Dipper had always felt like the black sheep in the Pine's family. He always felt like they would get along just fine without him - even Mabel, with enough time. Closing his eyes had never felt like such a reprieve from all of it.

Dipper and Mabel Pines were born twins, separated at birth, Mabel staying with her birth parents and Dipper sent to live with his great-uncle in Gravity Falls, Oregon. After accidentally meeting for the first time, the twins take time to warm up to each other, whist Dipper inspects a family friend's ulterior motives.

The Pines twins have been steeped in mayhem, mysteries, and magic every summer since they were 12 years old. Coming back home to Piedmont, going to high school, acting normal? All those things make them stick out like a sore thumb. When you ask outsiders about the Pines twins, you get a mix of strange stories and casual observations.

Falling... As Dipper tries to decode the laptop late one night, a realization of what he has become rears it's ugly head. Leaving him to wonder what to do when even the journal who told you no one could be trusted in the first place is the thing that he should mistrust the most. Set the night before "Sock Opera."

Mabel has vanished with Bill to the demon's dimension and time is running out for Dipper to save his sister before he loses her forever. Meanwhile, the twins are being plotted against by two more forces of evil, Wendy is contemplating her entire love life, and Dipper is trying to break Gideon out of prison? However, as Dipper pursues an inconsistency in Gideon's final plot, he uncovers something much bigger - and much more dangerous.
