GREETINGS WORLD! I, The Great Nyanko, present to you from my spinny chair of power a profusly pleasing profile. I am your typical nocturnal, caffine sustained, obessisive creature known to the rest of mankind as a TEENAGER! Dun-dun-dun.I have the heart and mind of a writer. However, my typing skills are equivelent to that of a rabid orangutan. Scratch that. The oranguatan would be better. I'm more like a waterlogged worm whose miserable existance is soon to be ended by an overzealous 7-year-old on rollerskates. Thereforemost updates or new entries will be horribly late in coming; unless by the mercy of some higher force I can enlist the help of my typing slave. A word for the weary wanderer (advice for avid readers): If you're having trouble finding fanfiction that you like (particurally troublesome for highly endorsed series) I have a few tips based on my own experience that have served me well. 1. If you do find one story you like then check that author's profile. First see if they have other stories for your area of intrest, then check their favorite authors (I put only those I hold in very high regard under my list), then check their favorite stories often they have similar tastes and you can find a treasure trove of good material. Also check their C2s if they have any. 2. Don't limit yourself,if you really like an author don't hesitate to read their other stories, even if you aren't particurally familiar with the series you may find it intrests you (you may find new "bookstore" reading material), remember-a truly good author can convey characters well without the reader needing explicit background information on te series. 3. Make use of the C2 forums. Seriously, their introduction has made my life tons easier and happier. Go by pairing, character worship, plot basis, etc. Great stuff folks. 4. Lastly you can try the search area, its unreliable and often pulls up alot of things you WON'T want to read but, every now and then it can be fruitful. 5. An addage: If you don't like slash (yaoi, shonen-ai, etc.) and your author does, you may have some issues in their profile. Can't help you, I'm a boy on boy junkie at this point (I blame Yu-gi-oh). Best advice I can give: learn to be open minded. stats : Name: Katherine. But never call me that. NEVER. You may call me Katie, Kate, Kit-Kat, Custard Cream pie or anything but my given name. Gender: I am of the female variety. Age: I am an earth snake by the Chinese zodiac and a Virgo by western astrology. Occupation: I'm a professional Harpist, A begrudging student, and I give free cooking lessons to my less than culinary adept friends =-= Hobbies: Haunting the manga section of Borders, forcing my cooking upon unwary bystanders, wasting endless amounts of paper with my constant drawing and writing, studying history (I intend to have a career in archeology =-=), playing with my cat... Pet Peeves: Homophobes, brussel sprouts, people reading over my shoulder, people who flame for no particular reason, bad grammer/spelling, OEL "manga" (not manga folks =-= comics), people asking me to play the titanic theme, mary-sues... Caffine of choice: Jones green apple soda () ALWAYS keep the caps, they reveal the future. Quote(s): "Between truth and the search for it, I choose the second."Bernard Berenson "The greatest mistake you can make in life is to be continually fearing you will make one." "Nothing is too high for the daring of mortals: we would storm heaven itself in our folly." Lat., Nil mortalibus arduum est: Coelum ipsum petimus stultitia. Ahhh, glad to see thats over with. Now then on with the stuff you actually (maybe)care about. First let it be known that I'm a manga purist and as such my writing will be based of that. I generally view anime as the evil twin of my favorite series. Most any Fanfiction I write will indeed be manga centered unless I'm obsessing over a new book or video game (as I get sentimentally attached to characters ). My story status: Memories of a Skewed Heaven: The maiden kissed the statue and it became a man (A series of vignettes and drabble, primarily NejiTen). Chapters: many written out (some still need severe editing) andnone posted. I'm willing to take suggestions or requests for this, however don't expect one unless I tell you I've decided to use your idea. So far thats the soon to be up. Like I said, poor typing skills.
