![]() Author has written 1 story for Repo! The Genetic Opera. Hey there! I guess I'm here because I love to write. I feel like I have a knack for it and I just like letting my imagination run wild with the most ridiculous things. Sometimes, I think fanfiction is regarded by the rest of the world as something only adolescence do, which I believe is incorrect. Even if it is, what's wrong with delving into one's imagination as an adult? That is something that many people lose as they grow older. What is life without imagination and creativity, art and passion? I'm in my early 20s and I'm not 100% sure what I want to do with my life. Lately, I've been wanting to get into voice acting because 1) it seems like an incredibly fun thing to do and 2) I feel as though I have a very lively personality/voice with the potential to act. I would also like to moonlight as an author. I guess my goals aren't very conventional when it comes to money. Anyway, I'm rambling about myself. The reason why I like writing fanfiction is because too often, my character.. gets out of character. As I'm writing, I find myself thinking, "That's not what my character would do." It seems silly, since it is my character and I should be able to do anything I would like with him/her but that's rarely what writing fiction is about. You're making a character come to life and helping him/her grow into a real person, or as real as you can make them. You give them their personalities and you give them choices that only they can make, and there is sometimes only one option for this character. Adam might choose to save the people on the bus that it teetering precariously on the edge of a cliff while Jason may choose to save his own ass and book it right off that bus and never look back. I'm rambling again. Anyway, the reason I want to start writing fanfiction again (I used to write it when I was very young and then moved on to my own fiction) is because I would be writing about already established characters, which sometimes are very difficult to write because you want to write them in a way that's suitable for your main character or for you story. For me, it's hard to make them stay in character. You should have read those Naruto fanfictions I used to write. Actually... don't - they were horrific. I think writing fanfiction is good practice for staying in character, even with my own. Well, I hope I didn't bore you to death with my little spiel and I hope even harder than my fics won't either.
