Current Stories Harry Potter and the Question of Faith When the Trio arrive back at Hogwarts, still reeling from the death of Dumbledore, something is amiss. There is a new seventh year student, but Harry can tell she doesn't belong. She isn't sorted into a house, and she appears to take classes with whom ever she wants. Who is she and why is she at Hogwarts? Further more, Snape has returned to Hogwarts as the Headmaster, Harry can only assume on Voldemorts orders. But that too doesn't seem right. Since the death of Dumbledore, Voldemort hasn't surfaced - no sign nor sighting in either the magical or muggle world. Was Dumbledore wrong, can Voldemort feel the destruction of his Horcruxes? Or is it something much more sinister? Harry stared at his old Professor for what felt like years. How could they possibly make this work? It was suicide, surely Snape would be ready for him the second he set foot in the castle. 'Harry? Harry...?' Remus shook Harry's arm slightly. Two Out of Three Isn't Bad Sixth year is about to commence and Harry's life lays in ruins, or so it seems to him. Sirius is gone and Harry is left homeless when the Dursley's throw him out on the street the moment he returns from Hogwarts. Not daring to set foot in Diagon Alley and too ashamed to seek out his friends or Dumbledore, Harry instead choses to wander the streets of Muggle London, trying to while away the three months until September first. The last person he expects to cross paths with is Severus Snape, and the last thing he expects to hear is an offer of lodging. Snape's has three conditions; (1) he is to treat Snape as his legal guardian and (2) the arrangement will continue until Harry is of age.. Harry is unable to see any other option, and reluctantly agrees. Snape then presents him with the third condition, Harry must remain loyal to Snape no matter what may unfold. Harry again agrees and is lead to Spinner's End...and into his new life. 'Potter...' A familiar drawl met Harry's ears. Snape paused for a moment, as if trying to swallow a particularly bad potion. However the moment he caught Harry watching him struggle he composed himself. 'Potter, I've uh, been informed of your current situation and I may have a proposition for you.' Harry had never seen Snape try to smile before, and secretly hoped he would never witness it again. Snape and Harry looked at each other, neither believeing what was transpiring between them. Harry dropped his gaze and thought...it would only be three months out of the year and it would allow him to save face infront of his friends. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad, he might actually be able to scrape a good potions score now. Wow, Harry thought to himself, I must be desperate if I'm will to live with one of my sworn enemy's. In the end, Harry's body (screaming out for food and sleep) won, and he let out a sigh. Harry looked up at Snape and gulped, 'Sir, I wish to accept your offer.' Snape spun on his heel, his coat billowing behind him. Harry took this as a sign they were leaving, so with his possesions in tow he ran after his new guardian. Mentally kicking himself for accepting Snape's offer, Harry wished he could take it back. Surly wandering London for three months is better than living with Severus Snape... Coming Soon Three Things I Hate About You (Sequel to: Two Out of Three Isn't Bad) Standing on platform 9 & 3/4, Harry takes a deep breath and begins hunting for his friends. How can he explain his absense over the summer and his lack of contact with them when he can barely understand it himself. Severus Snape was his guardian, as unwilling as it was - would Ron and Hermione understand? Would the Weasley's understand, or would they feel like they've been cast aside? In his heart of hearts, Harry knows Dumbledore had a hand in this, if only Harry knew why and what it would mean for his future (if he survives Voldemort). On an upside, Harry is more prepared than ever for his classes and even has a head start in potions. Harry is in for his most trying year of his life as he says a final goodbye to old friends and prepares for the fight of his life...thank goodness it's not NEWT year too! (An alternative Book Six) 'Did you really think it would be this easy Severus? That I would fall for your lies?' Bellatrix's laugh echoed off the stone walls. Bellatrix hit Dumbledore with an unheard curse, forcing Harry to watch blood slowly pour from his hero's mouth and eyes. Again he was hit and a sickening cracking noise filled their ears as Dumbledore cried out in pain. 'Foolish old man...did you really think you would win? You could never foresee the Dark Lord's plans!' A jet of green light left Bellatrix's wand, reaching its target with sickening ease. Harry paused for a moment, a faint buzzing filling his ears - then black. |
