Genius.

Genius is defined as, somebody with outstanding talent, somebody with exceptional ability, especially somebody who’s intellectual or creative achievements gain worldwide recognition.

In Roman mythology a genius was a guardian spirit that every person, place, and institution possessed. Geniuses were household gods, that were worshiped because it was believed that some of their greatness, i.e. their intellectual prowess, or luck, or talent, would rub off on it devotees.

In medieval times, many believed that geniuses were supernatural beings.
