At the crossroads of destiny, Zuko makes a choice that will change history as we know it. When the four kingdoms were young, the first settlers in a hidden valley discovered a rare mineral ore, as red as dragon-fire. Earth benders dug the tunnels, and Fire benders melted the ore. Then Sozin's Comet changed everything. UPDATE: Something has been unleashed. The Gaang must find the culprit behind the burning homes before the Earth Settlers are banished forever.

Book 3 AU. At the end of "The Crossroads of Destiny" in the Book 2 finale, the lightning bolt from Azula kills Aang, taking away his life and shattering his friends. Struggling with the loss of their dear friend and the world's last hope, Katara, Sokka, and Toph must carry on and defeat Fire Lord Ozai without the help of the Avatar.

The plagues ravaged the world, destroying crops and leaving entire regions reduced to vast swirling deserts of dust and decay. Entire ecosystems came crashing down. Widespread famine and illness has killed countless. Were it not for a handful of sanctuaries, mankind as we know it may have been lost. The world is hurting. The world needs an avatar...

'Her world was not black; it was simply the absence of color, and as horrible as it sounded to others those closest to her knew that she colored life in her own way. Perhaps one could say that certain people brought certain colors into her life, and she loved all of them just as they loved her. But her favorite color of all was named Sokka.'

Many had tried and all of them had failed. How do you explain what the night sky looks like to someone who has never seen it? Who has never seen anything? None of the people that tried seemed to find an answer and they always ended up rambling on and on about things she didn't understand. All but him.

Character Swap AU. An exploration of how things might have worked out with Avatar Sokka, waterbender Aang, his nonbender brother Zuko, Fire Princess Toph (with her uncle Bumi), and earthbender Katara. Along with practically everyone else not where destiny placed them.

Alternate Universe. Benders are physically affected by their element and the world fears them for it.

What if it wasn't the Fire Nation who attacked, but the Water Tribes? What if it's not Aang who is destined to save the world, but Toph? What if Zuko and Azula are the ones who join Team Avatar? What if everything had been different?

A rewrite of The Desert episode where Aang goes off in a huff to find Appa, leaving his friends to fend for themselves. Luckily Sokka has a map! But they have no idea where it would lead them or what mess they would get into next! Just another side adventure for Team Avatar.

Sokka takes Toph to the Southern Water Tribe for a visit home. A growing dependency becomes more than platonic as feelings get swept up in a blizzard between two hearts pulling at each other.
