Updates as of 3/3/14:

I start my new, legit adult job next week so I'm trying to make the best of my last six days of unemployment freedom. Hence:

changed the title of a passionate, fragmentary girl, maybe? to underestimate and swim. in the past three days it's gone from two chapters to 10! There's also half a dozen other ones of all kinds sitting in the doc manager waiting to undergo final edits & whatnot, so expect those to all be up within the month and this will be FINISHED because I've basically burned through my Parvati Patil muse.

Holy shit guys, I worked on weather girl today!!! Goal is to have this chapter completed by the end of March with a plan on how to wrap this mother up.

riot grrrl manifesto is officially undergoing a short, mini-project-revamp -- adding a few things to earlier chapters & getting some editing. additionally, the next chapter is nearly finished. This week's to-do includes completing one and/or both of those things by Saturday. Wish me luck, you know how that usually goes for me if you've been following my writing.

3/1/14:

Creatively active as far as riot grrrl manifesto goes, in more ways than one. doing a lot of separate character mapping/developing.

Finished the last chapter for the lady of shallot over the hols, subsequently lost my flashdrive, am hoping it will show up eventually. ???

In the process of going back through i don't belong here to fix some errors, tiny inconsistencies, shit that bothers me, etc. Slow because I really need to be better at naming my documents, both on my computer and on google docs. And because I'm busy with life and other projects that are more interesting than finding typos, splitting chapters, blah blah.

As if anyone really reads bios, but in case you're interested...

I'm a bit nutty, but mostly I mean well. I RP, I have an affinity for Mountain Dew, Monster energy drinks, and Polar seltzer water. My favorite food is anything buffalo chicken themed. I have a degree in History, which was fun and fulfilling but thankfully over. Netflix is my life partner. My favorite-movie-that-I-hate-to-admit-I-love is While You Were Sleeping. The other one I usually tell people is the Boondock Saints or Bend It Like Beckham. I think "fuck you" to people who don't like girls with too many tattoos, girls who smoke, etc because I ain't drinking their "lady" kool-aid. I'm also disorganized slob perfectly content to live as a hot mess. Rock n' roll, I guess.

The most important thing to know about me as a writer is that I'm freakishly sporadic, great with ideas, but horrible at finishing them.I feel super sorry if you are attached to anything I write because I'll probably post a bunch of chapters close together but then you won't see one for ages. I'll probably re-write parts of it, get you excited again, maybe post an update, and poof then I'm gone again, like the tricky little bitch I am. Not to mention when I get these ideas, start them, but lose steam and never get past a chapter or two. I don't like filler chapters, at least not writing them. I'm kind of experimenting with different ways to get around that and still give you some nice shit to read. Let's see... as you might be able to tell from my stories and my favorited stories, I also have an affinity for OCs and AUs. I like looking at things from an alternate perspective, and I like to try ad teach old dogs new tricks (/read other people trying the same thing!). I like to be creative, am terrible at proofreading my own work, but writing keeps me sane.

weather girl (you are the queen of my world): SKY HIGH. This is the one story you can count of me forcing myself to continue. I've been working on this story, writing and rewriting, for like nine years so I'm going to finish this bitch if it's the last thing I do. No matter how long it goes without an update, take heart, because there will eventually be one. Currently LASHOC, & no matter how much I have become attached to that pairing, it will eventually be WARRENOC. PROJECT REVAMP was completed as of August 5th, 2012. Goal for new chapter: April 1st, 2014.

brave new world: STAR TREK: DS9. This story is a collection of snippets/drabbles/whatevers about JAN (OC). One minute she is jumping out of a friend's car and crossing the street, but then it all goes to hell...or technically, Deep Space Nine. I dunno if this is going anywhere, to be honest, but maybe eventually.

the lady of shalott: BBC'S MERLIN. This is my attempt at bringing Tennyson and other Arthurian legend surrounding Elaine of Astolat into the BBC-Merlin-verse. Nobody in Camelot could really say they ever took much notice of Elaine of Astolat, until one newly knighted Sir Lancelot smiles at her from across the way. d. Set in seasons 1, 3, and 4. Unrequited sort-of-OC, contains character death. Tralala see the updates section.

RIOT GRRRL MANIFESTO: HARRY POTTER. My latest foray into "how to craft a fic that I can finish that still properly tells a story." Kathryn (OC) only wanted a couple of things out of life: to get away from the Dursleys, to do something memorable, to graduate...but more than anything? She just really wanted to be something other than 'Harry Potter's little sister.' These are her adventures. AU. Rated for future chapters. Currently undergoing a project revamp & the latest chapter (the 1st half of GoF) is nearly done. Goal for the completion of Kathryn's 3rd year: May 1st, 2014.

Happiness is Not a Riddle: HARRY POTTER. Centered around my OC, Rosalind, and is currently being considered to undergo a PROJECT REVAMP. MWPP. Rosalind Barlow receives a diary for her seventeenth birthday and proceeds to name it "Nora" for no particular reason. Nora becomes witness to her friendships, losses, and even some love on Rosalind's search for herself. RemusOC. Keep this around for funsies.

I'd Be Surprisingly Good For You: Currently contains two chapters and let's be honest, this is probably not gonna go any further. Mary Eleanor (OC) always had a thing for older men, and certainly never had a problem getting a man of any kind. But even she didn't expect to fall head over heels in lust with her new Professor, and even less for him to say 'no'. RemusOC. Discontinued, possibly forever.

They Carried Their Memories: TOMCAT IN LOVE though technically it's THE THINGS THEY CARRIED. Creative writing assignment from ages ago that was based on THE THINGS THEY CARRIED by the brilliant Tim O'Brien. Follows two students at one run-down, urban high school and how they think about the future.

Priceless: HARRY POTTER. Someone commented that the nameless girl in this story is Moaning Myrtle but UM NOOO it is not. It was written pre-HBP and is thus non-compliant with anything we learned about Horcruxes then. It was my attempt at how TMR could have gotten immortal. She would die, all her beauty and loveliness and her vibrant smile, so he could live. Nothing comes for free, especially this. Hints of unrequited TMROC. One-shot. Warning: violence.

I AM MORGANA: BBC'S MERLIN. Morgana-centric short n' sweet oneshot, inspired by badass portrayals of Morgana Le Fey. Written immediately after S2E12 and revamped in fall 2012. The Great Dragon called her a 'simple witch,' Gaius tried to stifle her budding powers, and they saw her as a pawn in the scheme of others. They all, at one time or another, underestimated her. It would be her greatest strength.
