![]() Author has written 3 stories for Pokémon. Alright. Let's get some things out of the wAy. I'm not the best writer on this site. Hell. I don't even believe I'm that good. I've heard things about a couple of people that I should watch out for and block entIrely because of their reviews. To be honest with you guys. I'll accept any criticism of my work that you or those certain people might throw at me. I like learning new things especially from people who have been doing this longer than I have. Take my first story for example. It was terrible. Looking back at it even I would criticize it for how horrenDous it was. That's just how things are gonna work here. Now what I will not tolerate are foul and unnecessary reviews that are there just to spite me or other reviewers. Don't be sAying anything stupid or really dumb and we'll be just fine. And don't worry. I'll be doing a strike system. And everyone will get three strikes. After that, I'll just block you so you caN't be stupid anymore. Those are my rules. Abide by them and we'll get along nicely. Name: I don't know myself. I'm pretty sure it's here somewhere... Favorite "favorite thing" I like to say when I run out of favorite things to say: Favorite "favorite thing" I like to say when I run out of favorite things to say. When I first started writing the Prologue for The Scourge Wars. I didn't start off with those paragraphs you see. I first went through almost all of the paragraphs with little to no detail, but still caught the main ideas and topics. After that. I let my imagination take over and I started adding detail to each of the paragraphs being as precise as I could be. I also listened to certain music during certain moments of the Prologue that would help let my imagination rest in a certain place where it could build up ideas for just that area. This allowed me to weave my thoughts into the story how I so pleased and how I felt like it should have been. That's how I write my stories. But that doesn't mean you should do what I do. Everyone has a different way of writing and creating their own stories. Just because someone says they don't like the way you formatted it doesn't mean you should let that get to you. When people criticize your work a lot of the time it's not out of spite or out of disgust. It's so they can help you learn new ways and tricks so that you can do better and work more efficiently. It's called Constructive Criticism - A recommended set of instructions that aims to collaboratively improve the overall quality of a product or service. Often containing helpful and specific suggestions for positive change, constructive criticism is highly focused on a particular issue or set of issues, as opposed to providing general feedback on the item or organization as a whole. That is the definition of Constructive Criticism. It could be both harsh or kind but either way, it's still advice. If someone says something really harsh about my work and proceeds to give me the way he/she thinks it should be. I'm gonna thank him/her for his advice and see if I can learn anything from it. If I think it'll help me then sure I'll give it a shot. If not. Well, then that's alright too. I'll just do it how I do it. If you don't have faith in yourself and think you're just gonna embarrass yourself. Well than embarrass yourself. Everyone starts from somewhere even if that somewhere is something like 10 or 20 sentences. It's a start. Take my two stories for example. My first one Exotic: The Thunder Devil and my new one The Scourge Wars are drastically different from each other in countless ways. But that's because I tried and began somewhere where I was terrible and eventually become much better. It's how life works. Mistakes aren't bad things. They're lessons that help us further our knowledge to not make that same mistake again. Take the chance and leap and maybe you'll find yourself somewhere you never thought you'd be. Any tips, advice, criticism, and reviews are welcomed and appreciated. I will review other works sometimes. But most of the time I will refrain. This is all I have to say for now. Stay well guys and stay happy. "Make the leap" - Nice Guy Wolf | |||||||
