Summary:

Staying undercover and pretending to be a no-maj had been simple. No one ever looked at her twice, and that was how she wanted it- no, needed it to be. And then he showed up, the man in the blue coat who changes everything.

Excerpt:

“There you are!”

Sophie turned to see the man in the blue coat from before. He was jogging towards her, his suitcase in tow. He was looking for her?The blaring horn of a car startled her into remembering that she was laying in the middle of the street. Frantically she dropped the animal and tried to disentangle herself from the bike. I should have taken my wand. I should have- Out of nowhere a hand gripped her arm tightly and Sophie managed to catch a glimpse of a familiar blue coat.

“Hold on!” He cried.

She let out a gasp before it was sucked away from her. Sophie felt as though she was being pulled through a straw. A very, very tiny straw. And it hurt. With a pop she was finally able to breathe again. Huffing she tried to pull herself together, opening her eyes to see the man in the blue coat hovering by her side. In his hand was the strange animal.

“Who are you?” she managed to ask in between breaths. “And what is that? What did you just do?”

Please tell me that’s not what I thought it was.

“Are you alright? It seems that I keep ru- running into you.”

“Yes, apparently you do. Are you going to tell me your name now? And what it is you’re holding?”

“My name is N-Newt Scamander and this is a Niffler.”

“A what?”

“A Niffler. They’re native to Britain. They like shiny things.”
