![]() Author has written 8 stories for Spyro the Dragon. Aim high in life, but watch out for flying boxes. In the News this Week... Aug 12: Chapter was a few days late, but I doubt anyone noticed lol. Ughhh I'm sick and stressing about things and hardly writing because I'm not happy with any of it, but IT'LL GET BETTER. I hope. Fanfic Progress Balefire: Finished: Chapter 22 Currently writing: Chapter 23 Last Update: 12 August Next Update: 31 August A Haiku I am a river Not of death, but of dragons And too many words Who??? Call me River. Everyone does. It's not my real name, but if you yelled it to me in a crowded room, I'd probably respond. I'm a friendly old crone who likes dragons and Spyro and writing about dragons and Spyro, and I'm also a very confused Australian who somehow ended up in the icy wastes of Finland (it's Spyro's fault). I can't stop writing fanfiction for some reason, and I also draw stuff sometimes. I love to read, so feel free to throw your stories at me. I'll eat them. Sometimes I'm really lazy and forgetful and don't reply to messages or reviews, but I DO read them. I always read them. I love you. Where??? Find me in the celestial caves of the White Isle... I usually write fantasy/adventure stories because they're my favourite genres. If you decide to take a look, you might find: – Magic – Pretty landscapes – Strange fantasy creatures – Really long adventures My stories are way too long, but I just really like pretty descriptions of fantastical landscapes, okay. When I first stumbled into the Spyro Archive, I clubbed readers over the head with my very clichéd fanfics Tears of an Oracle and Residual Darkness, and it seems as though people still kinda like them for whatever reason. They're pretty amateurish, but at least they helped me learn how to write and made me addicted to writing and sharing fanfiction, so I guess that's good. Sometimes I can't decide whether they're worse than I remember or not as bad as I thought. Maybe both??? Right now I'm working on a more niche (read: less popular) concept: a series about my own 'original' characters and their long frolicking adventures through the enormous backyard of The Legend of Spyro. It starts with Firelight, which is probably the best thing I've written so far? It's my favourite, at least. It follows the story of Charla, a young fire dragon who was saved from the raid on the Dragon Temple by a very foolish ape, and there's a lot of stuff I want to pack into this series. Magic and mythical creatures and friendship and loss... But ultimately they're an excuse to enrich and expand upon the world and lore that the TLoS series gave to us, because that's a big part of what inspired me to write fanfic in the first place. Consider them my love song to The Legend of Spyro. Who knows if I'll continue writing fanfiction when this series is over. Right now I'm happy writing about Charla and her friends and the dumb things they get up to in this weird fantasy world. And maybe you'll enjoy reading about it, too. c: Did I Write These??? Dumb summaries for my dumb stories~ Tears of an Oracle – An angsty teenage oracle tries to kill everyone because the world didn't end. But you're just here for the SpyCy, aren't you? Sleepless Spirits – Spyro fights some spooky scary skeletons. That's it. Residual Darkness – The dragons of Warfang get caught up in a very large family feud between felines. Meanwhile, a swarm of OCs tries and fails to stop Spyro turning evil. Threads of Existence – Spyro fixes the world and meets The Ancestors. They reward him with an exposition dump. Spirit Gems – Oneshots and snippets that belong to nothing and nowhere. Distance – Cynder angsts about long-distance relationships. At least she makes some friends in the process. Firelight – Some Kid goes on adventures in the very large backyard of TLoS. A New Beginning happens in the background. Balefire – Some Kid leads her friends on an expedition to figurative Hell to save some apes. The Eternal Night happens in the background.
