Author has written 2 stories for Naruto. Hey, CTO here. Been a while since I last visited this site. The following pertains to my long absence from the site and my (possible) return. December 14, 2009. I sort of fell out of fanfiction for a while when the Naruto anime (the series I wrote fanfiction for) started airing here in the US. The airing of the show on CartoonNetwork brought on an inundation of new fanfiction written by the age group the dubbed version targeted, i.e. the 10-to-15-year-olds that have no writing experience whatsoever. New writers also have the bad fanfiction habits of creating ridiculously powerful and attractive OCs, using song lyrics (which I think is against the Terms of Service now anyway), using "Author's Notes" in the middle of a chapter, and other fanfiction faux pas. Anyway, the result is having to sift through mountains of crap and semi-crap fanfics before finding anything with merit that's worth reading. Of course, not all new writers are horrible, and I certainly wasn't perfect either. My older work surely needs revising (but may never get it because it's...well, old.) But the long and short of it is that I got tired of all the junk and haven't really visited the site for anything more that the occasional check-up on some particular fanfics. But one day (10/29/08) I got bored and looked around and right away found a nice little series of drabbles that was pretty well written, so my hope is somewhat renewed. As a result I think I might spend some more time here. As for me, I'm twenty now, and have entered my sophomore year of college, and am doing fairy well for myself. As for my long story The Way We Change, I'm amazed and honored that I still occasionally get reviews and alerts for it. Although I have a few more chapters written (...somewhere, and by written I really mean written, not typed or edited or proofed) I doubt that I will ever type them or post them, because the last chapter posted was a decent stopping point even though the story wasn't technically finished. It would probably take somewhere around six more chapters to finish the story and posting two or three would only leave you at a cliff-hanger, which would be especially cruel if I never wrote the rest. I may however, edit and re-post the chapters that are already up... maybe. No promises. Speaking of which, my Gaara/Sakura story The Way We Change has a lemon in chapter nine, but since this site's ratings only go so high, the adult material has been cut out of the version here on FF.net. If you want, you can read the uncut version of that chapter here: |
