Hi I'm a thirty-something mother of two who has recently become a stay-at-home mum (thanks to the extortionate cost of childcare - haha). I found this website by accident a while back and must say it has helped keep me sane over the last year. Grabbing some time to read a few new chapters each day really does relieve the monotony of feeding times, nappy changing and housework. Before becoming a mum, I was an avid fanfic reader. My favorite author of all time has to be Ducks, although her stuff is hard to find these days as BTVS has been replaced by Twilight, True Blood and The Vampire Diaries in vampire popular opinion. Apart from BTVS, other favourite fic-universes include Bones, Gilmore Girls, Veronica Mars, Twilight, Smallville and Battlestar Galactica (2003). I would love to give writing fanfiction a try myself, but I worry that I'll offend the die-hard 'shippers out there by not adhering to canon sufficiently. While I love all of the TV/Book series mentioned above, I really haven't committed all episodes/chapters to memory which seems to be expected a lot. Some of the reviews I've read about my favourite fics on fanfiction.net have been brutal! Who knows, maybe I'll bite the bullet and attempt to get one or two ideas together for posting.
