There are many things hidden beneath the surface when it comes to Rin, such as his true emotions and certain aspects of his demonic nature that have only recently come to light. When his friends start avoiding him and giving him the cold shoulder, he realizes that maybe there's more to him than even he had known. He can control his flames now, but is he in control of himself?
