I'm a girl,I love the Lord of the Rings and anything Tolkien.

Ihate Mary Sue/10th Walker stories but I also hate people who self righteously go around saving Tolkien canon.

Well, I'll tell you something, canon's well and good, I happen to loveit something fierce, but we're all writing fanfiction, it's not MEANT to be canon.

Most of the stuff on ff.net IS AU, so why does everyone keep flaming Mary Sue fics?

Ihatethem myself, but I don't see any reason to destroy an aspiring writer's hopes and dreams.

Note-I also HATE any uncanon pairing.(we don't know a single thing about Legolas' love life, so he doesn't count.)
