This is a multi-chapter story based on my headcanon that Lance is the unofficial team medic. This is my second Voltron story so please give it a shot and let me know what you think!

So, Keith and Lance have been in a romantic relationship for a while, before Keith left the Garrison in fact. They were quite open about their relationship too, or, well, they thought they were quite open about it, but clearly that was not the case, because no one on team Voltron seemed to be getting the message. It's not like they tried to hide it, right?

Lance was a background character, a nobody, who knew everyone's backstory in the book. But, every time he's asked for it, he only smiles, he winks, and he puts a finger to his lips, much to the surprise to the other students and staff. The team leaves on an important mission, leaving Lance alone in the Castle of Lions with Coran. However, upon returning, they discover that things aren't as pleasant as when they left.

The bond between a Lion and Paladin is one of the strongest in the universe. So when Keith is left injured and alone to die following a botched Blade mission, the Red Lion has to save him. Lance is tired of being put down by his teammates for everything he does. So he goes to the only one who will listen to him. Blue. after hearing her Paladins plight for the last time she decides to take matters into her own paws.

Lance often frets about being a good enough Paladin and about not knowing anything about being a paladin. So on one of the usual nights when he can't sleep and goes to talk to blue about his thoughts; The Blue Lion surprises Lance and manages to find old Archives of her last paladin.

A Galra commander decides that capturing the Paladins would be smarter/easier than capturing the Voltron Lions, the Lions don't take to that well, as the Lions are rather protective of their Paladin's.
