I’ve been reading Supernatural fanfiction far longer than I’ve been writing it. I was an avid but shy reader and reviewer back then and it took a while before I eventually opened an account and just over a year later here we are.

Supernatural caught me hook, line and sinker from the first episode I saw which was 'Bloody Mary'. I can honestly say that before the show I didn’t even know fanfiction existed! But as soon as I stumbled onto it I was pretty much addicted, reading just about everything before I started toying with the idea of writing my own story.

At the beginning of 2008 I put fingers to keyboard and began writing what I thought was my very first fic and one shot - well over a year later it turned out to be an eleven chapter story! Writing my own fanfic has brought to light the reality of how incredibly hard it is, you guys out there make it seem so easy but now I know from experience that that isn't the case. Months later I finally managed to pluck up the courage to post my first ever story! I can't tell you how petrified I was but the support I received was overwhelming and I’ve ‘met’ some wonderful people and writers who have gone out of their way to offer me help and guidance.

I’ve learnt a lot about myself through my writing. I’ve an obsessive tweaker and worrier and have a terrible habit of procrastinating when it comes to editing. Consequently, I’m a slow writer and it takes a while for me to feel happy with a story before I can post it. But I’m always writing or working on something and this year I hope to post more frequently.
