![]() Author has written 5 stories for Legend of Zelda, Fairy Tail, and Fire Emblem. Who am I? I'm just a simple man who loves Star Wars and The Legend of Zelda. I'm 21 years old, and I'm currently enrolled at a University, majoring in English. I decided to start writing some fanfiction because I enjoyed reading some, but often times I was disappointed by what I'd read. Not that it wasn't good or well written, but it bothered me when stories were left incomplete, or when a couple got together in a way that was way too cheesy to be believable. That's my origin story. What am I into? Video Games (with an emphasis on The Legend of Zelda), Movies (emphasis on Star Wars), and surprisingly I'm not much of a reader. But I can literally spend an entire day writing a project that I've gotten into. I have another profile on writerscafe.org for my own original works. Where do I live? I would love to live in Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory, but I don't see that happening. My religion? I'm very religious. I am of the same religion as Brandon Sanderson and Orson Scott Card, if you really care that much to know. That is the primary reason for the lack of any lemons or M-rated material from my hand. More on my opinion of that below. What do I eat? Pizza. Burgers. Crap Americans eat. And I love all of it. Favorite video games? 1. The Legend of Zelda 2. Fire Emblem 3. Super Mario 4. Final Fantasy 5. Pokémon 6. Uncharted (I just had to put a 6th slot for this series) Favorite movies? 1. Star Wars 2. The Lord of the Rings 3. Harry Potter 4. The Dark Knight Trilogy 5. Guardians of the Galaxy Favorite anime? 1. Fairy Tail 2. Dragon Ball Z 3. One Piece 4. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure 5. Gurren Lagann Favorite sport? Does longboarding count? If not, then basketball. As far as politics go, I don't include it in my writing for the most part, so don't expect to see anything like that. People are free to choose whatever they wanna do, as long as it doesn't interfere in my own life or that of my friends and family. I don't like rated M material. I feel like anytime I've ever tried to read something that's rated M, it's always some kind of sex show (or at least will eventually include a very pornographic scene somewhere in the middle or the end). Stupid lemons. Why I dislike that is simply because it takes away from the story. Do I think including sex or that kind of thing in media and literature is wrong? Absolutely not, it's a natural part of life. But, when someone takes the time to write and think about it, rather than simply imply it, the entertainment which came from reading the story itself has been lost. I also find it degrading to the characters, as I can no longer see them in the same light as I was once able to. It's also cheap entertainment, to say the least. How hard is it to capture someone's attention with sex? Easy. Now that the audience is focused on the sex, are they going to care what else happens in the rest of the story? Well, in time they might. Enough ranting about it though. It's just that I've become invested in a lot of fanfictions that were very well developed until the characters started having dirty sex, and I was no longer able to enjoy the story, because it kind of ended there. There was little point to see what else happened. Implied sex? Sure, that's fine! Detailed? Well, it's up to you, but not for me. None of my writing will include detailed sex scenes. In other words, use your imagination. Finally, I'm avid to keeping to the canon as much as possible, but twisting a story in such a way that it creates something greater. One of my favorite fanfictions was a Vincent x Yuffie fanfic called Destined Souls, in which nothing about the canon of Final Fantasy VII was changed, yet it had an entirely different story unfold in it. Which is why I'm still angry that it was never finished! My first fanfiction, The Fates of Time, keeps to the canon of Hyrule Warriors as closely as possible, until after the actual story ends. Then I built on what I altered, creating a new story altogether, making it possible for the story to continue where the characters can have a chance to fall in love. The Legend of Fire Emblem, however, now that one takes canons and throws them into a different Hyrule story of my own design. Gets all sorts of crazy in there. I'm MitchMyester, and thanks for taking a look at my profile. Please review my stories, I always want to know what I can do to make them better! |
