Author has written 1 story for Harry Potter.

Hello there,

I'm quite new to the realm of publishing stories I write, but would like to give it a bit more of a shot. My first - still incomplete - story on here, A World of Facades, is on a bit of a hiatus; first because I had originally planned to get ahead with it a little before continuing to post chapters, second because my life situation has changed quite drastically twice between the story's conception and now, and third because, as a result of both the second point and continuous broadening of my literary horizons (to put it in the most posh way possible), my intentions with my little fic have changed drastically. I have left the beginning up so far but have already begun some extensive revisions both in the chapters posted and in later chapters and am still trying to figure out where these changes are taking me. Since - if I ever do get around to finishing it - it will be a longer piece I would like to have at least the first 10 - 20 chapters written and a complete revamped and updated outline before I continue posting chapters (and posting the final revisions of my first chapters). At the moment I do, however, fully intend to keep working on this story.

Fic categories I like to read: PotO, Harry Potter, Les Mis, Fairytales, P&P, Last of the Mohicans

My current Fics/ Fic ideas, by category:

-Harry Potter: A World of Facades - a very non-gryffindor interpretation of the complex lives of Harry's more unpleasant classmates, told through Pansy Parkinson's lense [A more apt description for the original version still posted may have been: the Harry Potter books through the eyes of the slytherins, if all but maybe two of the slytherins had secretly been amazing people. This is the main reason I am doing the extensive editing: while trying to make the slytherins less black-and-white evil, I came to love my interpretations of JK Rowling's characters a little too much and instead of their being the grey characters I intended for them to be they morphed into adorable little misunderstood do-gooders under my fingers, which had not been my original intention. Nevertheless this means rewriting quite a bit, and probably changing the story almost completely. Ah well, since none of you read all of the original version of this, you'll never know how ridiculous it got, and I can only hope you enjoy this updated version...once my lazy self finally gets to posting it]

-Fairytales: [Idea, no title] - A sort of Cinderella meets BatB meets AU french revolution with (hopefully) some tidbits of other darker tales ex. the Pied Piper as well as a possible P&P theme, inspired by a song by Amberian Dawn. Oh and there will be a masquerade! This will likely be a romance/ drama, unless I suddenly get better at writing action. I'm really excited for this one (then again it is a new plot bunny) so I may post a teaser/ prologue to see whether my writing can enchant, amuse, or at least keep readers just far enough from dosing off to want more ;) Update: As I write this, despite never having read the books or watched more than one episode of GoT/ Song of Ice and Fire, I realize that some situations in the first part may hold some similarity to scenes I've caught glimpses of in the show.

-Oz the great and powerful: [Idea, no title] - What if Evanora, Theodora, and Glinda had an older sister, Locasta - the good witch of the north. Why wasn't she present during the [2013 movie] storyline and what does her disappearance have to do with Evanora, and later Theodora, becoming so unhinged. I'm not sure this idea will ever be fully realized, but if my old plot bunnies for this idea come visiting, and bring along some new friends, I might dig into it some more to find it's worth (or lack thereof).

My writing style:

My writing ought to be/ theoretically at least is at college level. I strive to write realistic characters in fantastical realms. I don't believe in wholly good or bad characters (especially wholly good ones. The better they seem the more I get an itch to make them screw up big time). If I am successful, any kind acts and friendliness that my characters display will stay within the realm of a hopefully realistic self-serving nature. To be clear, I don't believe that this in any way makes them 'evil' or 'dark'. My theory currently in how I write characters is that while everyone primarily wants to please themselves most of all, it is the way in which they go about it that distinguishes them as a more positive or negative-leaning personality. But perhaps I'm just being ridiculously psycho-analytic and have added 2 and 2 to equal 5 and should just stick to keeping my grammar acceptable and avoiding Mary Jane's :P

Also forgive me if I rambled excessively, I have yet to learn not to write on too little sleep.

Happy Reading!

A World of Façades
Pansy wasn't just a cruel slytherin girl. She was a very troubled girl, yes, and artificially enhanced what cruel characteristics she had in order to survive slytherin during the time of Voldemorts return. Meanwhile she was just struggling like everyone else to go through being a teenager without too many blunders. My first attempt at a fanfic. Please R&R!
