![]() Hi there. I'm a 20 year old (M) student from the US and I like to write. Also a stoner weirdo and a big music/movie nerd. I've been writing for about as long as I can remember, and though I don't write fanfiction as often, I began my writing career writing it when I was younger. It's been an on and off love affair for me since then, with most of my time being dedicated to original projects. I will never stop writing (hiatuses notwithstanding) and it's been a source of comfort, pleasure, and frustration for me for ten years and more. As far as what I write goes, I'm a huge sucker for psychological stories of all kinds, horror, drama, thriller, experimentalism, noir, adventure, and fantasy. You name a speculative fiction and I have dabbled in it though I also adore writing more realistic works. Some fandoms I would like to write for are: Idolm@ster (CG era), Hunter x Hunter, Saki, BoJack Horseman, Made in Abyss, among others. What I enjoy in writing: -Emotional narratives; eliciting an emotional response out of me is my #1 goal out of consuming (and creating) all art. If I'm absolutely disgusted and hate something, at least it didn't leave me feeling like a blank slate. -Unconventional narratives; screw the rules, you can make your own. Read someone like James Joyce or Cormac McCarthy to see what I mean. Not for everybody, and hard for me to replicate, but a huge influence on me. -Interpersonal drama; human relationships are central to us and I like exploring them from every angle possible. -Sprawling fantasy adventures; so much room for lore, adventure, and worldbuilding which is my favorite thing to do when I write speculative fiction. -Flowery prose; obviously has a limit, and it's just a preference. But what can I say, if I have to lean between "underwritten" or "overwritten", I'd honestly prefer the latter. -Romance; yes, I'm a male. Yes, I'm straight as an arrow. Blow me. I love love. Things I absolutely fucking hate in writing: -Super nitpicky by-the-numbers analysis; see BS like CinemaSins for what I mean. Actually don't. -Writers using phrases without knowing what they mean; authors, GOOGLE YOUR EUPHEMISMS. OR BETTER YET FIND WORDS YOU DON'T KNOW IN A DICTIONARY. There's nothing more annoying than finding a phrase in a story and seeing the author use it the exact opposite of how it should be used in context. -Reviewers and analysts using an "objectivity-subjectivity" scale; "objective" being possibly the most misused fucking word in the English language. -People obviously not revising their stories before posting; doesn't require an explanation. A problem I see all too often on this site. Now that the serious stuff is all out of the way...well, some favorite characters I guess: Nao Kamiya (The Idolm@ster: Cinderella Girls) As for pairings...despite my love for romance I've never really been big on shipping, mainly because to me it attracts the absolute worst of a fandom, but some I do like are: Riina x Miku (The Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls) (Probably my OTP if I had to choose) And I can probably think of some more later. okay that's enough about me for now cya |
