I really enjoy the Beca/Chloe character contrast. I think that's what's so interesting about this ship. This story is something I've been working on for a few months actually. It started off as just some random drabble, Beca/Chloe interactions, but progressed into more. It kind of follows the movie, but not really. It's mostly just backdrop for the dialogue I wanted to create.

Its been a year since Beca graduated from Barden, but other than that nothing has changed. She still hated movies, found the color pink repulsive, and love was still just a hazardous chemical that shouldn't be dabbled with. Chloe has some inappropriate thoughts the first time she listens to her lady jam after her impromptu duet with Beca.

All your life nobody really understood you. All her life, she was kind of a open book. Yet, even though she was so diffrent than you, you fell inlove. You wanted to tell her that. But ofcourse you can't, because she's not yours.

At first it was just for fun, there is something gleeful about watching a grown man squirm as she threatened him. But Aubrey has taken on the role seriously, her purposely sweet and cheerful tone directly contradicting the words of warning for the men. She enjoys it, and she enjoys carrying out the threats when the men stray.

Beca wanted to take her time in answering again. She wanted to think about it, to lie and say she doesn't remember anything past the first shot of tequila. But she looked at Chloe and she forgot all about it. "God, you're beautiful."

Beca's mind worked overtime with the information given and came to three conclusions. One, no one was dead, dying or in mortal danger. Beca felt herself sigh in relief at that. Two, Chloe is panicking over a job interview. And three, of all the people in Chloe's life, she called her.

It's a song, your relationship with Chloe Beale; it's a song with verses and a hook and a chorus. But you can't break it apart and fit it back together in a way that's easier and simpler for you to understand, like you normally might. Because, well, maybe it's perfect just the way it is.
