I'm a workaholic from Trinidad, with a serious penchant for non canon ships. I simply love the idea of putting characters together who might not have ened up together officially, but should have. NC authors tend to see very subtle interactions and then take the plunge in writing about them. That's a thumbs up in my books and I'm happy, FF. net has such a plethora of fantastic writers. The possibility of promoting that "what if" idea is so intriguing and opens a multitude of options. There are many fellow NC authors, whose works in the categories I follow have brilliantly wrote the perfect reasons why these characters have a better connection and are better suited to each other than what occurred canon wise. Some of my favourite pairings are:

Aragorn & Éowyn (LotR)- I fell in love with them reading LOTR at the age of eleven and hence where I get the majority of my ideas. Their relationship can be written in so many, many genres and for those anti shippers, just remember the FIRST DRAFT okay? Tolkien wanted them to end up together. I'll read all even the anti ones but only if they're written constructively. I'm not against Faramir/Éowyn either, it's that Arwen who makes me gag! blech...sorry Arwen fans. Fave writers: Mousie2 & Necole

Harry & Hermione (HP) - yes, yes even after DH, I've still LOVE the pair and so have many, many others. R/H are just so wrong on oh so many levels. They have very little or nothing in common. JK Rowling thank you for the HP Universe but blah the romance and the canon couples really were a huge let down. :( I'll even choose a Dramione over Ron and Mione. Four authors, Goldy, Prof Chem, HorseloverTW and Pandie's Boxx are simple the best!

Batman & WonderWoman (Justice League) - Definitely, definitely strong on the chemistry section and the friendship. I know how it works out in the comics but they're both such fantastic characters to write about. Seems as though there's a major fanbase here for these two. Can't even think of Supes and Wondy together, they're like siblings! Great authors to check out are Jagan Lady, Djinn & Ugly Girl if you have a craving for this sweet.

Mileena & Subzero (Mortal Kombat) - the couple of my first fan fic, it's a strange one I know but I've always liked to delve into her psychotic mind and see what lurks beneath there. :)

Susan & Caspian(Chronicles of Narnia) - My current muse and I love them, hopefully they'll do justice to Susan and finish her story. I believe she got redemption in the end. Please Disney/ Walden put her in The Last Battle and end our doubts since you've portrayed Movie Susan so completely different than canon. Noteworthy authors : Emeraldteardrops, Shining Friendship, Rosa Lunae & StardustFromThePlanetGallifrey (please check out their fantastic fics if you haven't done it already)

Tifa & Cloud (FF VII)- Angst and more angst it's my fave genre, but I love these two and their complicated relationship.

Ichigo & Orihime (Bleach) - Not sure what's going to happen to them but we'll see so they're in between the AU and Canon couples :D. I think they suit each other perfectly and deep down Ichigo's feelings for her are stronger than he realizes (or Kubo is teasing us) and are definitely more than platonic. Note Hueco Mundo Arc. I mean come on Hime can freaking smell him and her confession, even the most rabid anti-hime has to admit it was heart wrenching. Who says Kubo doesn't write romance? I think they balance each other perfectly and their connection speaks throughout the manga. I know lots of ppl will argue that point, but we're all entitled to our own opinions. My fave writer for this ship: Rairakku Hana (hands down)

Rangiku & Byakuya (Bleach) - My OTP!There is something intriguing about ByaRan. Different backgrounds, different personalities and for those who out there thinks he wouldn't be interested in her cuz she's a 'commoner', one name for you Hisana. I think Kuchiki taichou if he allows himself to see the real Rangiku, will be attracted to her, there's a lot more to her than being a top notch sake guzzler, sleepaholic and exhibitionist and if you really, really think about it, they've got lots in common. I'd love to see her take his arrogance a notch or fifty degrees lower. Plot bunnies have appeared to add to the Byaran page and I'm working eagerly to perfect it. I'm addicted to this ship and arrghh... wish there were more fics out there! My fave writers in this definitely AU ship : Feilyn and Namimakura (you won't be disappointed)

Ino & Sasuske (Naruto) - OK I know this may never happen but I really like the contrast between these two much like my ByaRan ship ;) Ino is that reckless, loud mouth girl with the hidden soft side and Sasuke the cool, calm and collected filled of angst man. Will it even happen I highly doubt it, but hey that's why we have fanfic ;) Fave author in this ship : Lamanth

Mirajane & Laxus (Fairy Tail) - Another case of opposite attracts. Laxus is the epitome of the 'bad boy' persona and while Mira is no longer in demon mode. There have been incidents, where Laxus is the one that makes her revert with his seemingly non chalance, plus with him back in the guild, Mira's been saying some good stuff about him during the S Class Arc. Think the Master will agree with this pairing "Ayeeee sir" and apparently, so does Happy. I hope Mashima will give us some Mira/Laxus tag team action in the current arc. These two have the chemistry going, subtle but palpitative.

Newest Additions:

Red Riding Hood & Huntsman (Once Upon A Time) - It isn't very new but I've loved this pair since Season One. Yeah I know he's "Dead" but Shadow of the Queen confirmed they're canon. So much can be written about these two. Hands down best ship writer out there is Albion19

Lola & Sebastian (Reign) - We got a glimpse on the possibilites but the writers threw a fork in the spoke. However that's why we have fanfic right?

Sansa Stark & Aegon Targaryen(ASOIAF/ Game of Thrones) - Probably the strangest one out of the set but entirely possible. Just have to wait and see if Martin plays it out. Someone has to fulfil the prohecy and replace Cersei and who better than our little dove Sansa. Stark/ Targaryen love story part two, coming to a novel near you.

And for the canon characters, we have the following, drum roll please! (hehe it's a small list)

Link & Zelda - Fantastic promises of humor, romance, drama, the oh so lovely angst and they're canon according to most of the games. Who doesn't love Ocarina of Time?! I'll even twist Twilight Princess plot to make it into my own Zelink ship :D:D This little pairing is midway between canon and AU anyhow right gamers?

Cornelia & Caleb (W.I.T.C.H.) - they are canon up to the first twenty something series in the comics and ended strong in the cartoons. I like their head strong attitudes and I'm currently waiting for my muse to kick in to do something with these two.

Langdon & Vittoria - they so compliment each other. The chemistry, the angst...Sorry Sophie fans, that chick doesn't even match up to Vittoria. Darn the movie showed ZILCH about their connection. LV lovers go read the book and write fanfiction soon.

Jarod & Ms. Parker (The Pretender) - Though not officially 'canon' IOTH proved us wrong. They are so made for each other. Ice queen meets lab rat in a chase for freedom. Here's hoping they'll make the third and concluding movie to end the mystery of this couple.

On a side note, if you're a huge Dramione fan and you're looking for a superb fic that'll have you beggin for more go check out La Diablesa's fics and especially Devil's Deal (you won't regret it) She's even beginning to convert me into that ship. Gahh what's happening! o_O

Not certain where my plot bunnies will take me in the future. The flower and the sword is destined for a total overhaul so look out for that hopefully soon.
