Catenaut is a group of guys who served together in Iraq and Afghanistan and reunited to form a company that makes gadgets and gizmos for the industries that we've worked in. One of the gadgets we made has developed into complete system that can monitor and measure pretty much anything related to forest harvests. We call it the FMC system, and while it obviously improves profitability for loggers, landowners, and forest managers, we think that it also has the potential to completely eradicate illegal logging, save critical wildlife habitat, and quite frankly, change the world. The most surprising lesson that we've learned so far is that every company we've approached about eliminating illegal logging from their supply chain has, to a one, said a version of, \thanks, but we'd rather not know. Because if we know, then we have to take action that could be very expensive, and not taking action would expose us to a lot of liability. So you can see how knowing puts us in a situation we'd rather not be in. Good luck to you though.\ Be the change you want to see. Help us get the word out. Help us convince companies like Nestle, Safeway groceries, and Lumber Liquidators that willful ignorance is not acceptable. Our FMC system costs less than the price of a cell phone..for multi-billion dollar companies to say, \thanks, but protecting the last 1,500 wild orangutans in Sumatra is not worth $200\..not $200 a month, or $200 a year, just $200. As long as we stand alone companies will continue to believe the best way to deal with illegal logging in their supply chains is to purposefully ignore it..help us convince them its not. Thank you. illegal logging prevention |
