Eight years ago I began my first full-length fanfic for Final Fantasy VIII. It was my favorite video game at the time and I was fully immersed in the world and its mythos. I decided to write a story about what happens after the events of the game. FF8 has such a fleshed out, detailed world with so many interesting minor characters and subplots that deserve recognition. With that in mind, I wrote "Infinite Saga" so I would have a platform to bring these characters and plot lines to center stage. I wrote about fifty pages of manuscript and uploaded most of it onto Fanfiction.net. Unfortunately, life got in the way and I put this project on hold indefinitely.

Eight years later, in 2010, I had the opportunity to revisit this piece of old writing. Even though I laughed at my horrid writing style as a 19 year old, I still taste potential within the story I attempted to create. Being unemployed and had no luck on the job hunt, I now once again indulge myself with my mind's creation.

"Infinite Saga" has been rewritten and updated, and will be published under a different title -- Mugen. I hope you will enjoy this story as much as I have writing it. Though there is much room for improvement, I feel that the story as presented is the closest to my vision of the FF8 world after the game's end.

I am in midst of writing Part II, which contains the bulk of the story I originally wanted to tell. I do not know if I will write another fan fiction again, though I will continue to hone my writing skills via original pieces that can be found on my website.
