![]() Mid-twenties cis-female human from down under. I've returned to fanfiction after a 10-year self-imposed hiatus and have fallen just as deeply into addiction as I did as a teen. My reading is primarily within the Harry Potter fandom, especially focusing on Hermione x Draco. As a mixed-race woman with giant bushy brown hair, who was an insufferable know-it-all at school and spent my breaks in the library avoiding bullies - I've felt a strong kinship with the character of Hermione since I was a child. I'm also a fan of Hermione as a woman of colour, as this speaks to my connection to the character and also makes the cast of characters more realistically diverse in my opinion. I work as a full-service sex worker in the state of NSW, Australia where sex work is decriminalized. You can say hi to me via my business social media accounts at emmafrostxe on both Twitter and Instagram (Very NSFW...but what else did you expect?). I'm passionate about educating people about sex and sex work, dispelling the harmful notion that sluttiness is an undesirable feminine quality and that sex work is an inherently dirty, shameful occupation that lowers your worthiness or human value. A fairly large proportion of fanfiction I've encountered contains horribly whorephobic language, and incredibly out of touch ideas about sex and sexuality. I love erotic fanfiction, it's what brought me back to this site after such a long time - so I'm hoping that by being open and attempting to have a measured dialogue I am able to open people's minds, illuminate scientific truths about sex workers and improve the accuracy of the literocia we produce. Presently I am piecing together an entirely too large and long story, which I don't expect to start uploading any time soon. I'm bumbling along in my research and slowly piecing together bits and pieces, trying to reinforce and expand my knowledge of JKR's magical world and formulate my own ideas to fill in the many gaps. Until I'm comfortable showing the world my vision of Hermione's life post the close of the books (I don't factor in the horrible epilogue), I'm building connections with other writers and doing some beta work/editing. I love helping writers edit their works, to borrow the phrase from Marie Kondo - it sparks joy in my life. I don't find it useful to have false modesty in this area, I am quite skilled at editing to a professional standard, with experience as a tutor in English, essay writing and history subjects. What is the use of having these skills if I am not able to use them? If you are an author who is in need of some extra eyes, or someone to help you navigate the non-sensical grammar of the English language, then please do not hesitate to send me a message. -Em xx |
