list of mishaps on Mythbusters

In the Pilot "Jet Assisted Chevy" myth, Adam first demonstrates his penchant for injuries. During the construction of the rig that holds the rockets to the roof of the car, Adam accidentally becomes entangled and falls backwards from the roof onto the concrete floor of the workshop. Adam lost some hair during an explosion test in the "Cell Phones and Gas Stations" myth, which invoked one of his more famous quotes: "Am I missing... an eyebrow?" Jamie almost passed out during the "Stinky Car" myth. After sitting in a truck container for two months with two dead pigs inside it, the car had accumulated high levels of ammonia that almost overwhelmed Jamie when he went inside to release the brakes. During the "Levitation Machine" myth, while examining a running vacuum cleaner motor, Adam's lower lip was sucked into the device, resulting in a cut. Adam later explained in the "MythBusters Revealed" special that he had wanted to see if the vacuum motor would pull on his lip, but had not thought about the rapidly spinning flywheel within. Adam and Christine both suffered mild burns in the "Exploding Jawbreaker" experiment. Christine was hit the most; the hot liquid core of the jawbreaker splattered on parts of her face and neck. Adam was later quoted as to saying that the molten candy, at around 250 degrees Fahrenheit, felt "...like napalm." In the "Killer Playing Card" myth, Jamie receives his first "significant injury" on the show, as quoted by Adam. It was a small paper cut caused by a 150 mph playing card. As was revealed in the MythBusters Outtakes special, the "Driveshaft Pole Vault" myth had tasked the Build Team with digging a pothole along a stretch of road. While taking a break, Tory decided to ride around on a bicycle and attempt to jump over a small red wagon. However, the rear wheel failed to clear the wagon, causing the bike to flip and throw Tory onto the pavement. Soon after, though, he got up, raised his hands (as if he had just pulled of the trick successfully) and said "I'm okay". Coincidentally, they were testing the myth that a car could flip itself end-over-end if a broken driveshaft got caught in a pothole. In the "Baghdad Battery" myth, the Build Team decided to play a joke on Adam by using the energizer from the "Peeing on an Electric Fence" myth to electrify two angels on top of a mock-up of the Ark of the Covenant. The inspiration for the prank had come after Tory subjected himself to the shock as a test and had been stunned by its severity. When Adam touched the angels, his body completed the circuit and was shocked. He later said he felt as if somebody had kicked him all over his body. Adam has remarked that this was the most painful mishap he has experienced on the show. Kari, Adam, and Tory slightly hurt themselves in the episode "Killer Brace Position," in which they volunteered to be seated in a set simulating aircraft crashing. They were dropped from 5 feet (1.5 m) by a crane, sitting in aircraft seats which were tilted 30 degrees facing down. They all felt that the brace position was stopping their heads and necks suffering major damage, but still they hit their legs against the seat next to them. Kari received a minor scar on her leg from the test. According to Adam, the scariest moment of the show came during the lengthy test of the "Border Slingshot" myth. While testing the potential of a slingshot using football goalposts, the 2-kg weight he and Jamie were attempting to launch became caught in the sling and flew back toward them, forcing them to quickly scatter to avoid being hit by the rebounding projectile. While Tory was testing a playground swingset - not rated for adult use - for the "Chain-straight 360" myth, the hinges failed at the bottom of the his arc and Tory fell hard onto the ground. Luckily, Tory had seen this possibility beforehand, and had mats in place for such an event. In "Hair Cream Decapitation", a mockup jet being pressurized for the test explosively decompresses mere seconds after Adam passes the eventual point of failure. As Tory exclaims, "You barely missed disaster!" In testing the "Confederate Rocket" myth, Adam and Jamie seriously underestimated their homemade rocket's power and decided to test it indoors, resulting in Jamie almost getting caught in the explosion and catching several objects on fire, including Adam's hovercraft. The rest of the shop was affected by the massive amount of (possibly toxic) smoke caused by this incident, forcing a temporary evacuation. The violence of the event also caused narrator Robert Lee to speak a profanity for the first time in the series. In the "Bottle Rocket" myth, a bottle rocket made of a 5-gallon water jug and lifting a 2kg load goes higher than expected, forcing the Build Team to run for safety to avoid being hit by the falling weight. While testing the strength of homemade glue by pulling down on a spring scale in "Paper Crossbow", the glue suddenly fails, causing part of the rig to strike Adam across the knuckles. While testing the strength of a strong suction cup in "Crimes and Myth-Demeanors 1", the suction cup suddenly broke free from the steel plate Adam was hanging under and struck him on the head. In Steam Cannon Adam nearly destroyed a lathe and turned the wood cannon he was making into sawdust.
