Darcy has been very brooding lately, & Bingley thus thinks it necessary to cheer him up by inviting him along to Netherfield. But instead of enjoying himself Darcy only gives offence & even tries his amiable friend's patience to an as yet unprecedented extent.

The famous letter never reached its target. It is now 1814, and Elizabeth Bennet is desperate, desperate enough to seek out the man she scorned and accept a proposal from three years before... even if Mr. Darcy is not quite the man she remembers. AU, Regency.

So many novels end with the promise of marriage, and so few describe what happens after. I've often wondered about this particular wedding night, but frankly, Mr Darcy has changed so much by giving him some human feelings, I cannot imagine him, or Elizabeth, fumbling secretly in the dark anymore. Their first efforts must be heart-warming, their married life as well. Purists beware!

After Mr. Bennet's untimely death and the cruel and unhappy marriages of Mrs. Bennet and Jane, Elizabeth is determined that wedding bells will never be her fate. So when Mr. Darcy makes an offer of marriage, she responds with an offer of her own - to be his mistress, but not his wife. An exploration of Regency social and political mores. Angst, HEA, some explicit content.

A tale of friendship, love and settling scores.

As suggested in the title of Jane Austen's original work, Darcy's greatest failing is pride. His passionate love for Elizabeth only mitigates this character flaw, resulting in the awful proposal at Hunsford. If happenstance forced Darcy to marry Elizabeth before he loved her, or even knew her at all, would he ever be able to get past his pride to recognise his fortune?

Prologue only. Being prepared for publication. Darcy is inexperienced with women. He is having trouble dealing with his feelings for Miss Elizabeth Bennet. This is an interpretation of PnP, mostly written from FD's POV. There are a few surprises, but it largely fits within canon.

Regency Alternative Universe. Mr Bennet's leg was badly damaged in a carriage accident when Lizzy was 16. She takes over running the estate and her father sells it to her to avoid it leaving the Bennet family after his death. Elizabeth was married at 17, but widowed by 19. Her year of mourning is up and so much is expected of her. For her decisions now affect her son and she must protect his future. Will her desires to stay true to herself lead her down the right road? Or could a sacrificial road bring her more joy?

Our dear couple is full of their own prejudices and not a little pride. What would happen if Elizabeth insulted Fitzwilliam first? What if he retaliated? What would happen after the Meryton Assembly ball? Rated T because I have not gotten very far into the story, but there will be nothing beyond kisses, amazing kisses, but only kisses for our couple.

A slightly different meeting in the park at Pemberley. Book/BBC miniseries based. One shot.

For Elizabeth, the joy of her marriage and honeymoon are followed by the demands of becoming Mrs. Darcy, all while helping her shy new younger sister come out into society. Georgiana must deal with more suitors than she expected, when she fears nothing more than once again being persuaded to think she is in love with the wrong man.

A fluffy modern P&P retelling, from a unique POV. 6 chapters long

A One-Shot, What-If variation. What would happen if Darcy, quite by chance, heard Lizzy talk with her mother at the assembly, just before Bingley asked him to dance? This is a story about a journey, and chances. And how one must grab them in order to reach one's destination. Written for the playground "Peverseness of Mischance"

After spending 10 years living in solitude after the death of her husband and son, Mrs. Marianne Westfield nee Bennet decides to spend Christmas with her brother's family. Getting to know her nieces gives her an idea that will work to the benefit of all.

The classic twist of Mr. Bennet dies, Darcy offers a marriage of protection, and he and Elizabeth must work through their pride and prejudices without being able to escape one another.

Reading P&P, Mr Darcy's feelings seem rather acute, but do not get much attention. This story explores them from the moment just after his rejection, to beyond his actual marriage. The action follows P&P exactly, but some secondary characters, most notably Georgiana and Mrs Younge, push the boundaries of Miss Austen's description. The style of writing diverges from hers ever more.

A year can change many things, but not always a broken heart. After Lydia and Wickhams marriage, Bingley returns but not Darcy.Elizabeth has withdrawn at the loss of love that she had only just realized was there. AU. When Elizabeth goes to Hunsford where she meets Darcy again, she is aware of Wickham's character. She had a tentative friendship with Darcy in Hertfordshire, before he left Netherfield. Bingley is particularly OOC, he's not the amiable and humble man we know from P&P. It also includes a vile Wickham, however no real angst, I think.

P&P AU - What if there was a scandal in the Bennet family prior to Darcy meeting Elizabeth, could he overcome his pride? What if Elizabeth saw him as another immoral gentleman, could she overcome her prejudice?

As it is 10 year anniversary of 2005 rendition of Pride & Prejudice, I tried to capture the thoughts of Mr. Darcy as it was shown in the film. Please note that it is not entirely in keeping with the book. And a bit of fluff.

When Miss Lydia Bennet is attacked on the road to Meryton on the morning after the Netherfield Ball, suspicions arise on all fronts. Was it a local tradesman's son? Highwaymen? Are the militia men responsible, or will they be the ones to apprehend the murderer? And why has the Netherfield party run off to London the morning after their ball? Truly, a most untoward circumstance...

What if Darcy and Elizabeth both maintained civil tempers during the Hunsford Proposal? (Copyright 2014)

Shamelessly conceived after reading CheshireSorrow's Liberties Taken (May I suggest you read it). Warning, it is a little risqué for 1813. Mr Darcy finds himself in a rather sticky situation during the Meryton Assembly. Not yet introduced to Miss Bennet, they find themselves compromised and made to marry. And so the fun begins. COMPLETE follow in Shameless II (under construction).

Mr Bennet intended to father a son, and the P&P story hinges on the fact that he did not. How might life have been different if Elizabeth Bennet DID have a brother? This tale is regency set, but my knowledge of the period comes from the glimpses Jane Austen has provided in her work. I have filled the gaps with my own imagination, so I cannot vouch for its historical accuracy!

Dr. Bennet, Lady Catherine's personal physician, has brought his family to live in the shadow of Rosings park to benefit from the attentions of his patroness. Headstrong Elizabeth seems to thwart the great lady at every turn, but for the sake of Anne, Elizabeth is forgiven–until she refuses to turn her back on Mr. Darcy.

When Alana's internet friend Josef urges her to come to the Carpathian Mountains, she sees it as the perfect escape from a dark past. But when a handsome stranger arrives to sweep Alana off her feet, will she be able to surrender or will her past come back to haunt them all? Rated T for now. OC/OC

An alternate tale of a classic love story had the protagonists' characters and circumstances been a little different.

Alterations to the best-laid plans occur, and romance ensues, when one P&P character gulps his dinner before the Meryton Assembly.

When Elizabeth and the Gardiners visit Pemberley a year early, a bond of friendship and sisterly love forms between Elizabeth and Georgiana. The repercussions of this meeting change completely the way Elizabeth and Darcy interact once they finally meet.

Mr. Darcy, for once, needed Bingley's guidance, and at the Meryton Assembly, Lizzy does certainly hear his harsh words, but also hears something else - something that changes her opinion almost immediately. Based on 2005 movie.

When Elizabeth's parents died, she was forced to go to live with her estranged cousin Fitzwilliam Darcy and his sister in Pemberley. But, what did her fate plan for her and how their lives got tangled?

Elizabeth never meant for this to happen. One mistake-one simple mistake-and her life had unraveled around her. Now, on a path she never expected or wished for, she must learn about herself, about the things that are lost along the way to who we will become, and about the power love has to heal as well as to harm. After such a mistake, can she truly ever be happy again?

(editing) The story begins when Darcy decide to write a letter to her, instead of making his second proposal. Letters,conversations and meetings take place, only to find themselves falling under a passionate spell with no limits. Meeting of minds, genuine passion and l ove.

In Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, Elizabeth is angry at Mr. Darcy for his supposed treatment of Mr. Wickham, and he in turn feels that he cannot confide in her because of his pride in his family. What if he felt honor bound to tell her the truth at the ball? Would they come to an understanding faster? This is a preview of the book.
