This is an AU story set in present times. The United States has fallen under fascism. Jo and Blair are in their twenties and (along with the rest of the TFOL characters) are part of an underground resistance fighting to restore democracy to the U.S.A. There are serious undertones, but this story is offered in a humorous manner. Satire is a protected under the First Amendment.

From the battlefields of Ypres during WWI to the terrors of occupied France during WWII, this story follows Maura and Jane's journey together as they struggle to keep their love alive in one of history's most volatile periods.
