Currently trying to work up the courage to FINALLY post a story. Have a few Harry Potter Naruto and Pokémon stories waiting for that day...-_-

Pros

Naruto

Not much positive until Shippuden, but I love how he is so persistent and happy despite his childhood. He becomes a powerhouse and finally becomes a bit more serious when Shippuden comes along. Loved when he started training for his wind element, but he should have learned more wind jutsu besides his wind style rasengan and rasenshuriken. Also what happened to him learning water style and collaboration jutsu just to never use them? Also would have liked to see him train in water style. Well crap, this is really starting to turn into a rant, not pros. Think I'll stop here.

Harry Potter

Harry stops messing around once he gets a reality check, it is just to bad it took Sirius dying for it to happen. Granted he started the DA after the resurrection, but he doesn't really start until sixth year. I really loved how he started to toe the line at the authority that deserved it, instead of just Snape (who also deserved it). The seventh book was my favorite, because that is where we really see he isn't a little boy anymore, and has really come into his own.

Pokémon

Ash starts to mature and come into his own as a trainer during his Sinnoh journey, along with Unova. During all of Sinnoh and most of Unova, he isn't shown to be brain dead. He is shown just as the trainer and person he should be, after growing up and learning the lessons he has on the road for the past few years. Ash trains some pretty strong pokemon, and if he were to finally stop traveling and catching new pokemon, he would have a huge amount of awesome pokemon to further train. The way I see it, Ash would just have to train the pokemon he has now for a year or so and easily win a league tournament and do well within the Elite Four.

I just recently watched the video release spoilers for Ash starting out in the Kalos region and honestly? I think their going with Ash actually being the fairly experienced and competent trainer he should be. They made Ash look pretty cool with some style, and I really hope this continues to be the case. Who knows, it might become my favorite region!

Cons (Bashing)

Naruto

I get he is supposed to be the happy go lucky guy, but he seriously has to stay an idiot the whole time? Seriously? He never learns from his mistakes and forgets what someone says almost immediately. He goes on a three year training trip and gets ignored by Jiraiya I get that, but he didn't do anything to fix that? You would think he would train himself if he had to, and tried begging to learn his own element, based off of how Sasuke has fire and lightning. Kishi realized Sasuke would wtf own Naruto, so he came up with the Shadow Clone training exercise. Either that or he had it in waiting, which is almost worse! Jiraiya or Kakashi could have taught him this early on to train, or Naruto could have easily figured it out himself. You would think with how he abuses clones the way he does he would think it's a bit weird to see multiple perspectives or anything along those lines. Naruto honestly should have more than just Rasengan variants and Sage/Kyuubi mode, but at least Kishi has him being strong now at least right? Oh wait, he still has his moments of having the IQ of a retard then being smart the next. Damn.

Harry Potter

Harry does not change like any proper human being should throughout the whole book! He is introduced as a shy, neglected, and abused kid- and the series ends as such. Who only has two friends in their life, and the same friends at that? Who is so desperate that they put up with a jealous bullying slob? Harry should have stood up for Hermione more, instead of just sitting back and letting Ron verbally abuse and make fun of who is his real best friend in the book.

I absolutely despise Ron Weasley, Molly Weasley, Snape, and Albus Dunbledore. While others can think differently, I don't see how you can make Albus and Ron out to be anything but the bad guys. Ron is a jealous git who did not deserve someone like Harry, and I love reading where this is portrayed. Also he verbally abuses Hermione all the time, forces her to do his homework, then just falls in love with her out of nowhere really. I view the 4th book as him just being jealous that Hermione had someone who liked her, while he didn't. Albus at best is misguided, and at worst he manipulated Harry to serve his own agenda. Molly is his most faithful servant, and does whatever he wishes. Breaking the Statute of Secrecy in the first book? Not doing a damn thing when Fred and George tell her what they realized when they saved Harry summer before second year? There is a LOT more, but that's enough for this rant. Snape is just as faithful as Molly, and is pitiful enough to take a grudge out on a kid that has NO idea who his parents are, and really didn't have a chance. Between all of the manipulations, he really did become a mini James, instead of become a mixture of his parents or someone totally different like he was at the age of ten from the abuse. To wrap this up, once Dumbledore realized he had little time left and wouldn't live after the curse on the ring, he made sure to setup Harry to die. Sorry Harry, you really didn't have a chance...

Pokemon

I get this show is supposed to be for kids, and not for the people who don't want to grow up, but seriously! The days for Ash to be a naïve little ten year old are over. I understand Ash being clueless about a new region or pokemon, but having him learn how to catch a pokemon all over again (Unova) is not needed or remotely funny. I had high hopes for Unova when it finally started showing him being mature and a guide for Iris, but of course he fails in the league once again. I was ready for this, but he does worse in the league than in Sinnoh instead of doing better! They made him face a legendary trainer in Sinnoh just so he would not win the league, but in Unova it was disgusting. They have some idiot who was worse than when Ash first started off in Kanto beat him, leaving Ash to finish in the Top 8. This Cameron guy has to constantly ask about pokemon. Doesn't know he needs eight badges to compete in the league, ends up fighting Ash with five pokemon because he doesn't realize he can use six. What Happens? This kid beats him with only five pokemon, and Ash has Pikachu take out three of his team. Don't get me wrong Pikachu is awesome, but this left the other four of his Unova team to lose to the other two Cameron used. What the hell happened to their training? If they were really that far out of their league, Ash should have used his other pokemon like Charizard and Sceptile, or at least have them help train his new team. Disgusting...

Favorite Pairings:

Naruto

Naruto/Hinata Yes I am a Hinata fan, no matter how shy she was and still is. I love this girl and she deserved a better screen time and development. If Naruto was in her life a bit more, I honestly believe her stuttering and shy behavior would have disappeared in the first series, and they would have become great friends and balanced each other out. Their personalities are perfect for each other, and Hinata could have gotten training by Tsunade with help thanks to Naruto. She would have been a MUCH better apprentice than Sakura at least...her personality changed completely in Shippuden, and she becomes a badass. Hinata tries to sacrifice herself for Naruto TWICE. Even if she didn't die, she believed she would. Hinata later decides to make Naruto proud of her and walk hand in hand with him. She also helps Naruto out of his funk, with a little bit of help from Kurama.

Naruto/Ino This is another favorite of mine, just because their personalities are so similar and it would be funny to get them in the same room. This pairing is brilliant when done correctly. Honestly I don't see how Ino could have been as bad as she was in cannon. Her father is a clan head and it should have been an embarrassment for her to act the way she was.

Harry Potter

Harry/Daphne Daphne is my favorite female in the book, and in my honest opinion would have been the love interest if the story went the other way, and Harry went into Slytherin. This pairing is still done rather well even if their in separate houses. Daphne is smart and the heiress to the Greengrass fortune, how could she not know about the political etc side of things? I love reading where she comes up and helps Harry with his life explaining and helps him grow into the wizard he should have become.

Harry/Hermione This can also go either way, I read where she is bashed along with the other idiots, and others where she is portrayed to be just as manipulated and clueless as Harry. The stories where their a couple are really good, and I honestly believe this should have been the couple for the end of the series. NOT her and the git, I mean Ron.

Pokemon

Advanceshipping Ash/May Their personalities are eerily similar. They both eat like no tomorrow, are clueless about their emotions, and May has even adapted her training and battling style to be the same as Ash. Heck, he was the one who trained her! It is thanks to him that May is as good as she is. Lets not forget that while they do argue back and forth, you can see them enjoying it every time they do. Also, May always sticks up for Ash and vice versa.

Pearlshipping Ash/Dawn All of the same reasons for Ash/May. Except Dawn very rarely gets mad at Ash, and supports him like no other. Hey, she would get into a cheerleading outfit every time he would have a gym battle! The writers once again made someone relatable to Ash. As a good pairing should, they both are seen worrying about each other and supporting one another when it is needed. Sinnoh is when Ash should have started dating at the very least! I can't really explain why, but I think Dawn was even nicer than May and would have been a great girlfriend for Ash. When she returned for a few episodes in Unova it honestly disappointed me beyond words that she went along with Iris bashing Ash. She should have been defending him and disapproving of Iris! I can see why she would think its ok, what with not having much time for girl talk and trying to be friends with Ash and get to know his traveling companions.

Hated Pairings:

Any guy/guy or girl/girl No offense to any of you who might be gay or lesbian, but I just can't picture two guys or woman having sex, just not me. You would think girl on girl would be every guys dream but...no thanks! Honestly it sickens me though how much is written about guy on guy. In my favorite fandoms it seems the ratio is in favor at least 3:1 these days. Like Naruto? Guess I gotta get through all the Naruto/Sasuke-Kiba-Gaara-Itachi. Harry Potter? Harry Potter/Snape-Voldemort-Draco...

Naruto

Naruto/Sakura Do I even have to say it? Sakura is basically the worst character of the manga/anime in my opinion. Kishi had her scream and hit Naruto basically every time he turned to talk to her. She cools off a bit in Shippuden, but by then it should have been to late. Wake up Naruto seriously! She is still useless after THREE years of training with a Sannin, while Sasuke and Naruto are above her. Granted Naruto not by much till shadow clones, but that's a different rant. Then out of the blue has a crush on Naruto? Don't even! I love how Naruto realized Sakura wasn't being truthful to herself when she asked him out. Good job buddy, way to turn her down! Considering how until recent chapters of the manga, she would cry for Naruto to save her? She could have stayed useless for all I care, and I believe what Kishi did for Sakura was pretty cheap, but should have seen it coming. I sometimes feel like I'm being a bit irrational, but is very rare that I can enjoy even one of the best Naruto stories out there, if it has Sakura as a pairing...I can deal with no bashing, but no!

Harry Potter

Harry/Ginny This pairing I am a bit indifferent on. The book should NOT have ended with Harry/Ginny, if anything the romance was pointing to Hermione until JKR took a complete 180. Seriously?? However you will find I have a few favorite of this pairing, as long as Ginny is OOC she's ok, but OC? C'mon!!

Ron/Hermione They fight ALL the time! This is no 'aww that's so adorable their fighting' thing. No, Ron was horrible to her in first year, and still is throughout the series until he has a crush on her out of nowhere. Always makes her do everything, and whines when he doesn't get his way. The only way I see this pairing working well is if both of them are getting bashed equally, or Hermione was given love potions etc and Harry tries helping her out once he is clued in as well. Otherwise, I am a guy who is all for rights of women. Heck, women do way more than any guy can even think or care to admit. Ron is the classic "Make me a sammich!"...need I say more?

Pokemon

Ash/Iris For all the times this chick yells at Ash for being a little kid, she is worse! Honestly most annoying traveling partner/person Ash has ever met. In a world where Pokémon didn't have to cater to the young crowd, Ash wouldn't take her crap. Sorry Iris, but Ash has been traveling wayyy longer than you, and knows a lot more about pokemon. So what if he doesn't know anything about Unova or the native pokemon until he is given an explanation? Do you suddenly know all about Kanto? Johto? Hoenn? Sinnoh? I really don't bash anyone in the pokeverse, except Iris. This girl deserves it!
