Author has written 4 stories for Dragon Ball Z.

I write DBZ drabbles. Well, in this account, I do. Here's the deal:

I recently bought a book called 3 A.M. Epiphany. It's basically a collection of writing exercises which progressively get harder (although that's a matter of opinion) and more involved. The exercises give an idea, some rules, and a word count, and it's up to me to fill them. To improve my own writing, I have decided to take each of these challenges and complete them using the DBZ world for my template. Some will turn out better than others, I expect. I will try my best to complete no less than one per week, on average.

Now, some of you may already know me as ProjectSynapse. I've been on ff.net for almost two years now, writing primarily about Dragonball Z. I wanted to take on this book's writing exercises, but I didn't want that to take away from my actual stories. So, I created this account for all my drabbles within this book. Hopefully you all will enjoy them. And don't worry - this writing shouldn't take away from my official stories. Just the opposite, I expect. I've been out of the swing of writing for a while, now, and I think these challenges will give me motivation to get back on track.

Listed below are the exercises I've completed so far along with the titles of the drabbes, as well as the two upcoming exercises in the book. The descriptions are direct excerpts from 3 A.M. Epiphany.

Imperative: Write a fragment of a story that is made up entirely of imperative commands. This exercise will be a sort of second-person narration. 500 words.

Escape

The Unstable Self: Write a story that alternates between the "I" and the "He/She" or the name of the narrator, making sure you don't confuse the reader with the switches. Imagine a situation where a character is under such stress that he cannot think straight - or perhaps is madly in love and doesn't care if he thinks in standard-issue thoughts. 500 words.

Burning Away

The Reluctant I: Write a first-person story in which you use the first-person pronoun only two times - but keep the "I" somehow important to the narrative you're constructing. 600 words.

Unreliable Third: Write a fragment of a story from the point of view of an unreliable narrator - third-person limited (attached) narration. Example: Sandra smelled smoke, so she pulled the fire alarm. What if we find out later that Sandra didn't smell smoke? 500 words.

ON DECK...

Journalism: Write a part of a story in the form of journal entries. Your journal writer may not understand the significance of the events until a few entries later - or never at all. 700 words.

The Royal We: Write a first-person plural narration of an event from the point of view of a very close-knit couple. The reader should be unable to discern which of the two is telling the story. Do not use any first-person singular pronouns. 600 words.

Thank you all for stopping by to take a look. Spread peace, love and tolerance. :)
