Hello peeps :-) Thank you for checking out my profile.

I have been an avid reader since I was a child, although I confess that my reading has been woefully lacking lately. I've always wanted to write a novel and 3 years ago, I figured this was a good way to start.

I won't claim to be a great talent at this and I appreciate constructive advice and suggestions. I don't believe in criticism - people share their stories for the rest of us to enjoy, not for their efforts to be picked apart. I go by the old adage, "If you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all."

My stories are not perfect, they are for my enjoyment, and I wanted to share them in the hope that others do too. My writing will contain the following (you have been warned perfectionists and purists!);

Clichés, the occasional spelling mistake and incorrect punctuation, the overuse of certain words, and the tendency to go on a bit! I try my utmost to avoid the above, but hey, I ain't perfect. My stories can also focus more on moods, emotions and inner musings of a character, and I'm working on improving my action scenes and attention to detail.

I really try to make my oc's flawed and realistic. I love humour in stories, but I'm not so great at writing it! I like stories to be dramatic, dark and romantic, with a dash of humour. I do try to keep a touch of realism in my stories, but I'm not overly concerned with practicalities - stories are a fictional fantasy after all!

I have recently dipped my toe into Tolkien's world and admit that I am petrified! I read LOTR AND the Hobbit years ago, and admit that I'm not an expert in this area. I loved the films, and like many, have fallen under the spell of Lee Pace's Thranduil (Don't hate me, purist's!). That was the inspiration for my story, but I will try to give it some depth and prove I'm not just a shallow fan-woman :-D (my girlhood has long since passed!)

I must apologise to those who have been reading my story, Dark Amber. I'm sorry that it has been over a year and that I abandoned it. Last year was a difficult one for me - my dad was in a very bad place and he passed away in November. As you can imagine, it was a very stressful and emotional time and it has only been in the past 3 months that I've begun to come out on the other side.

Dark Amber will be finished - I'm working on completing the next chapter and aiming to publish it in the next two weeks, so keep those peepers peeled!
