![]() Author has written 4 stories for Kuroshitsuji, Vampire Knight, Blood+, and Tokyo Ghoul/東京喰種トーキョーグール. Hi! Welcome to my profile page! If you're here, I'm assuming it's because you have read my stories and want to know more about me. So I shall tell you more about me! :) Name: For all intents and purposes, my name on this site is River Eyes. I am part Native American, of the Cherokee tribe specifically, (although I don’t look it,) and River Eyes is the name that I took for myself when I came to a certain age. It sounds really interesting when spoken in Tsalagi, the Cherokee language. So far, I have yet to meet a single non-native person who can pronounce it correctly. XD Occupation: I have worked as a berry harvester, a summer camp counselor, a soccer referee, and a teacher assistant (in that order.) J Currently, I am employed in an after-school program that works with underprivileged elementary-school kids. I also work in the nursery of my Church on Sundays. Education: I am currently a more-or-less traditional college student, attending my first-choice university. :D I am a double major in Education and Creative Writing; also thinking of minoring in Spanish. I hope to become a Special Education teacher and an Author. Writing background: As far as writing goes, I suppose I’m kind of in the semi-pros. Yes, I did just take a sports term and apply it to English! XD I am a Creative Writing major, and I take a lot of writing/English literature classes at my college. I have always been very gifted in English, and enjoy it greatly. I spend most of my writing time focusing on my original stories and poetry pieces. However, I also like to write fanfiction, mainly because it’s not difficult for me to do. I don’t have to worry about what my professors will think of my fanfic pieces, or stress over whether I’m expressing the human condition as eloquently as possible in them. So I guess fanfiction is sort of like writing stress-relief therapy for me? XD This amuses me. Even though they’re not as serious, I do like my fanfic pieces, and I hope that my readers do as well. I have worked with disabled children since I was in fourth grade myself, and I really want to do this as a career. It takes a lot of experience and training to be a teacher, and I am currently giving it my all. Not that it doesn’t take experience to be an author, but the difference is that my teaching abilities are acquired, while my writing abilities are pretty much intrinsic- I was born with them. But I have to work at both in order to develop those abilities. Favorite subjects: Besides Education and Creative Writing/English, I also love Spanish, Philosophy, Anthropology, Astronomy, Music (piano!!) and some forms of visual art. My hobbies include reading, writing, folding origami, running, playing soccer, camping, and doing community service. Favorite anime/manga: Pita-Ten, Kuroshitsuji, Naruto, La Corda d’oro, Nabari no Ou, Vampire Knight, anything from Hayao Miyazaki. J Non-anime favs include Harry Potter and X-men Evolution. Likes: Christmas, late Spring, children, cats, nature, salmon, tomatoes, grape juice, hugging people, staying up to ungodly hours of the morning, easygoing people (like me!) :D Let it be known that this list is utterly random and short- if I listed all the things I like, you’d die before you got to the end. I am easy to please and generally content. I enjoy learning about other cultures and religions, and I hope to travel more extensively someday. I also like people who read/review my stories! Dislikes: MATH. It is NOT what I was made for, and it is very evil. I usually try to avoid it as much as possible. I also hate spiders, materialism, and petty people. And computer glitches. Those can just go die. XP |
