Hey I guess I should put something more entering to read or something. Anyway, I'm well on my way to being 20 years old.(only a few more years till I can drink)I love writing and reading Fanfiction.I do plan on posting my own fanfiction but I don't know when or if I'll get the time because of school or other things that come up. So just allow me to share my thoughts for a minute on various things I see on this site.

first the big one:

Thoughts on OC's: OC's can be a blessing to a story or its ultimate downfall depending on how its handle. This is how I see it and you are free to go with it or against it. In order for an OC to make a story good, they have to have an actual character. By this they have to have emotions, strengths, weaknesses,and most importantly a personality. I really don't care what side the OC is on weather it's good or evil, as long as they have decent qualities like the ones mentioned above.

One thing an OC also needs is a back story of some kind(If one is needed). Now here's where I get picky. An OC's back story can be as easy to follow as ABC's or as complex as e=mc2 but personally I prefer something in between these lines. OC's can't just randomly appear in a story, They have to be introduced in some way weather they fall through a portal or just get sucked into a video game(something like that).

The one thing that ultimately ruins a good story is when an OC is overpowering. THIS IS SOMETHING I CAN'T STAND! When an OC becomes overpowered, they lose all meaning of the word character. These kind of characters just surpass all canon and OC characters in abilities, strength, intelligence, ect. As much as people hate to do it to their beloved character, they need to take damage or have some sort of weakness. The weakness doesn't have to cripple them in anyway just so they hesitate or get stunned for some time. Here's how I see it:

Normal OC: Takes damage from minor enemies but learns about battles from experience and slowly gets better. Takes major damage from evil canon/OC characters while doing their best to hold them off. Basically fights like everyone else but with their own abilities and limitations.

Overpowered OC: Takes no damage from anything what so ever, can brush of a spirit bomb like nothing ever happen, and can destroy the earth with one mind blowing bitch slap all while fighting Galactus, Wesker ,and Kid Buu while also dodging Bloody Marie's skull projectiles...in his/her sleep.

Case in point Normal OC go, Overpowered OC NO!

One last thing before I'm done bitching about OC's. Now this topic is kinda a big one for me and that is parings. I'm totally cool with people paring their OC's with canon characters but when it gets too serious, I leave. I'm not saying this is a bad thing its just that I think(and this is my opinion)that if you do pair an OC with a canon character then it should be a friendly relationship or just a boyfriend/girlfriend sorta thing. This doesn't exclude them from making out though. This also applies with yaoi/yuri parings. I usually don't mind these but I usually don't read them so I can't say much

So this ends my rant about OC's and how they should be done. Like I said this is all in my opinion so don't hate and dis me for this.
