Following the events of the last season, Sherlock and Joan work at repairing their partnership and, in so doing, discover a side to it which neither of them had anticipated. Whilst trying to come to terms with the true nature of their relationship, they find themselves embroiled in a case involving a ruthless killer, whose sights become fixed on Joan Watson. A shocking conversation happens between Joan Watson and Kitty Winter. Kitty at first seems unreasonably angry with a person she's only recently met, but Joan learns that Kitty is aware of far more than she ever knew. Kitty's introduction to Sherlock goes back further than either Joan or Sherlock realizes and unbeknownst to him he created this new partner.

Set after Joan has her own place. A game of give and take. Sherlock and Watson being Sherlock and Watson as they try to adjust themselves to the new arrangement. Platonic joanlock, some humor, some schmaltz.
