TM Creative Fest Prompt #115: When Jane refuses again to attend a mandatory seminar in the CBI and threatens to wreak havoc if he's forced to go, Lisbon resorts to bribery in a last-ditch attempt to get him to behave. It works surprisingly well once she finds the right bribe.

"I'm glad Van Pelt and Rigsby found their way back to each other in the end. I just wish Van Pelt had decided to change the color scheme of the wedding to something different from the one she planned with O'Loughlin," Lisbon sighed. "Then at least I wouldn't still be stuck in that God awful bridesmaid's dress." AU after 3x24, Strawberries and Cream.

Fic exchange prompt: Lisbon's phone doesn't ring in "Black Hearts" when she's talking with Jane on the couch, allowing them to finish their conversation, which takes an interesting turn.

"'I almost died,' Lisbon whispers. 'And we panicked; we overreacted. It's understandable. To be expected, even.'" Jane and Lisbon try to work through the attempt on her life. Post Red John's Footsteps.

Lisbon could barely believe she was still alive, let alone that Jane had kissed her—several times, actually—and that she'd agreed to come over to his hotel room for a bath. Especially that she'd agreed to come over to his hotel room for a bath. Sequel to "The Tiger and the Lamb."

"The last of the sun's rays disappear from the window, bathing Jane and Lisbon in half-light. She scrutinizes him, trying to read him, but he shuts her out - the very last thing he needs right now is for Lisbon to know what he's truly thinking. He loves her. "'If you promise me you'll be ready,' she says, 'I'll wait. As long as it takes. But if this isn't something you want, or if you don't think you can move on, I need to know. I'll understand.' She sees his mouth form his response, and she has to look away as he answers. 'No,' he says. 'I don't want you to wait for me.'" Post Violets.

"Lisbon is still not entirely sure that fleeing Sacramento is the best decision. However, she also recognizes that her current injury is a major liability for the group—she cannot protect herself, and she certainly cannot protect Charlotte. "'You're here,' he says weakly, disbelieving, and she props herself up on one elbow. His eyes rove over her face, and she knows he is cataloguing her features in the soft sunlight so he can revisit this moment in his memory palace." When the CBI team is assigned a case with a witness who shares a striking resemblance to Jane's daughter, Lisbon worries that Red John is involved – and that Jane will be pulled in too deep.

"'Thank you,' she breathes. 'This was…this is the best Christmas gift I've ever received.' He nods at her. He cannot speak. 'I've been thinking about what to get you in return,' she continues, and before he can interrupt—she already is his gift; he doesn't need anything more—she cuts him off. 'And I finally figured it out.'"

Jane's POV for selected chapters of Beyond Measure. I'm pretty sure this won't make a lick of sense if you haven't read that first.

"And then I would have asked if I could kiss you, if I could love you, if I could spend my life trying to make you happy. Because I'd been thinking about doing all those things for the past two years—well, longer than that, really—and I'd finally realized that I was irrevocably in love with you." A variation on Blue Bird.

What would have happened if Lisbon had bailed Jane out after getting arrested in Vegas and not Lorelei? Here's my take on what might have occurred in 4x24 in place of what actually did. Multichapter. Reviews, as ever, are much appreciated. Finally complete!

"So instead of pushing her away, my arms tighten around her, and I pull her body across mine as I recline on the couch, laying us both down so I can sleep beside her. I kiss her again, my lips brushing over the top of her head as she lays on my chest. She shivers against me."

"She'd always thought she would be safe from Red John. Untouchable. Jane had thought so, too. 'If he harmed you—if he touched you—the game would be over. I'd quit.' She hadn't needed to ask what he'd meant by quitting." AU after Red Rover, Red Rover.

"'Your letters,' she gasps as his lips find a particularly sensitive spot on her neck, and her breathing hitches between words. 'You said...you were…mine.' 'Yours,' he agrees. 'I…am yours.'" Companion piece to "In Case".

"Why did you come?" And she can't answer him because there isn't an answer. At least, not one that makes sense to her. (AU, S6, post RJ)

When Red John discovers that Jane has been faking his breakdown in Vegas, he forces Jane into a deal: Lisbon is allowed to live, but Jane must break her heart by first romancing her and then making her believe he's taken his own life. AU after Red Rover, Red Rover.

"Lisbon, what makes you happy?" In response, Lisbon leaned forward. "You," she said simply. "You, Jane. Just you. Exactly as you are. I want you—your smile, your laugh, your heart. Your family, your heartache, your pain, all of it. Your past, your present, and hopefully, your future. You—just you—make me happy." Post Il Tavolo Bianco.

"I'm still a mystery, huh?" said Lisbon, smiling smugly. Jane nodded, then kissed her again. "A mystery I'm lucky enough to spend the rest of my life solving." Post White Orchids

Can't stay on the road forever, Patrick. Eventually, you gotta let it take you someplace. Post ep for 7x10, Nothing Gold Can Stay.

She has a baby. She brought a baby back from Haiti. Can you even do that? Season 3 AU.

Cracky stories meant to entertain through the long hiatus. All are meant to be a little screwball-y. Post "Blue Bird" with established Jisbon. Various ratings.

"He was frighteningly shaky, both metaphorically and literally, and he felt very strange, like he was sleepwalking. Baring one's soul was an exhausting thing. But worth it, as it turned out."

'Jane squeezed her fingers. "Anxious to get going?" he murmured. "We're just lucky some idiot didn't sneak on board and disrupt proceedings. I hear the TSA really frowns on that sort of thing."'

They're both broken, and she can still see the cracks when they're held up to the light, but maybe it's the mixing of pieces and the sharing of scars that will make them whole again. They're not running anymore. He loves her. She loves him. And it might not be perfect, but nothing ever is, and it's a very good place to start. During/post 6.22, "Blue Bird".

A tag to Forest Green that got out of hand. Lisbon considers the move to DC, Jane reacts badly, and Lisbon decides to get the truth out of him, one way or the other. AU after Forest Green. An alternate (and quicker!) route to happy little bluebirds. No plot. A lot of thinking, a lot of talking, and a lot about Jane's ring...

6x19 Tag - "Lisbon's words - 'he makes a point of always being there for me'. She might as well have said the rest of it out loud, too - 'you aren't.'"

And today—today was an unspoken agreement, a late night text that didn't surprise her at all.

"Everything okay?" Marcus asked, concerned. "Yeah." The lie was unconvincing even to her own ears. Since most rational human beings wouldn't be reduced to tears by the delivery of Italian pastry, obviously there was more to the story than that, but Marcus knew enough not to pry. Post ep for 6x20, Il Tavolo Blanco

"Because she was breathtaking. And he was a fool." Two short missing scenes and one slightly longer AU ending for 616 Violets.

6x16 Tag - "And then she sat on the floor of her shower, hot water streaming all around her, telling her heart to shut up. It was time she did something for herself. Marcus was kind and thoughtful and, best of all, he wasn't wearing a wedding ring."

'There were several moment of hesitation before she opened the wooden door. Her eye make-up was smudged, like she had swiped at her eyes a fair few times. "Who's leaving who now?" he asked without preamble.'

Even if most things about his return to the U.S. are better than he deserves, at least one thing is unacceptable. He's determined to fix it though. He hopes he can. He certainly wants to. Jane drops by Lisbon's apartment, long after the case is closed, with an unexpected question. And she isn't sure how to react. For Chibs, set immediately after 6.11.

"That's what friends do. Friends exchange hugs as a greeting and to say goodbye." Don't expect too much, I just did some sketching. Pure Jisbon!

"He was coming alive again, almost before her eyes, and it was all she could do not to stare."

NOW COMPLETE! What if Lisbon had been the one sent to South America to retrieve Jane? Alternative to "My Blue Heaven," so some spoilers. Romance/Drama/Humor. Rated T/M for adult language and situations.

"'She had it coming,'" Lisbon quoted to him. "You tell her you're sorry, and then you turn around and tell me 'she had it coming' Was that for my benefit, Jane? Did you think for some reason it would make me feel better to hear you say that? Because let me tell you, it most certainly did not."

6x09 Tag - "In truth, though, it wouldn't have mattered if she was a federal agent in the heart of Washington, DC. She belonged with him, and he wasn't going to do this without her at his side. He had gone two years without her, and he refused to do so any longer."

Pre 6x09 - "They had been through so much together over the years, dealt with murders and conspiracies and corruption. Had shared knowing looks across the bullpen, kept vigil at each other's hospital beds, had killed people in the other's defense. No one else would ever understand what her life had been. But Jane did."

He wasn't sure what was worse, knowing what state she was likely to be in when they finally found her, or knowing beyond a shadow of a doubt that everything that had happened to her was completely his fault.

Follow up to Regret, so includes spoilers for My Blue Heaven. You do need to read Regret first or you'll be lost. "Repentance?" she echoed. "For which sins?" "You know better than I," he said softly. "They were all against you."

"She must've been distracted, he figured. Otherwise there was no way that she would have left him unsupervised in her apartment. Free to wander and roam and discover. He felt few scruples about it. It probably made him a sociopath, but this was a goldmine. "

Inspired by the TV Guide post-RJ spoilers. Don't read if you're staying spoiler free! Lisbon reflects on the nature of regret. Not as depressing as it sounds, I promise!

In this story, Lisbon is the one with the crazy bulletin board.

"For twenty-seven minutes today, I lived with your death. And I spent every one of those minutes hating myself for all the things I never told you, things I was too afraid to face."

"It had been two weeks since The End. Two weeks that had seen his life change in such a dramatic fashion that he wasn't entirely sure what was going on, and instead, he simply was trying to hold onto something solid. That something turned out to be Lisbon."

"They may be…whatever they were now but she'd be damned if she wasn't going to maintain at least some semblance of boundaries when it came to the infuriatingly attractive consultant currently sprawled out on her bed." Jisbon fluff. Post-RJ. One-shot. Complete.

5x21 Tag - "It was a strange and unusual situation, knowing something that Jane didn't. It was surprisingly difficult to not barge up to the attic and tell him. At all costs, she resisted using the phrase "hold her tongue." Not a sentence she could utter now, possibly not ever again. "

"With all of these things, her stress, her worry about Jane, and knowledge - but not acknowledgment- of the feelings between them, perhaps it wasn't so very surprising when one night after a particularly brutal case, she crossed the lines she had put in place for the safety of her own heart."

Obviously, he was lying when he said it. Of course, she'd been lying, too, when she'd pretended to believe him. It was just that he was so much better at it than she was.

"It was a complicated game they played. No one wanted to be the one to re-write the rules, to cross lines that there was no coming back from. In no way did that mean they didn't desperately want the other to do so. "

"You let these beautiful, mysterious women suck you in and play you, thinking you're playing them. It's your greatest weakness, and Red John knows it. So do I. Everyone does but you." Follow-up to There Will Be Blood, 5x16. Lisbon tries to enlighten Jane, but things don't go as she planned.

"The second the words were out of her mouth, Lisbon knew she'd made a mistake." Inspired by the preview of 5x16, There Will Be Blood.

"He turned his head slightly, nose skimming her hair until he found the delicate shell of her ear. "You have to admit - I have good ideas sometimes," he murmured, deliberately letting his lips brush against her sensitive skin. She didn't even bother to hide her shiver. "Sometimes," she breathed, her fingers digging into his back." Jane/Lisbon

"I'll come by your place tonight. We'll talk it out, okay?" A soft, sad look in his eyes. "You're sweet." "Let me help you," she pleaded. The doors closed in her face. She gave him a five minute head start, and then went after him.

He really didn't look good. She'd seen him tired before, of course, but even on previous occasions when he'd gone through periods of insomnia, he managed not to let it affect his appearance much beyond appearing attractively rumpled instead of immaculately pressed. But now, he wasn't faring so well. In fact, he looked downright terrible.

She tells herself later that she had no other choice, but the reality of the situation is that she's had many choices when it comes to Jane, and somehow every single one she picks leads her right back to him.

"I didn't agree to this!" Lisbon said furiously. "For the last time, we are not going steady!" Sequel to "The Arrest."

Jane had always expected Lisbon to be the one to arrest him. He just hadn't expected her to be crying when she did it.

Now complete -"Unaccountably nervous, he took a deep, steadying breath, fingers wrapped around the steering wheel still. This was silly - he was going to be with Lisbon, for God's sake. It wasn't really a date - they were just two lonely people who were going to be slightly less alone tonight." Jane/Lisbon

Part III Added, now complete. "Someone once said that there was a thin line between love and hate. Teresa Lisbon was fairly certain she had erased this line, especially where Patrick Jane was concerned." Post 5x1. Part III also comes with a slightly more mature rating.

Set sometime post 4x10. "It had been a long, terrible day. The case they had been working on had gone from the standard bust-the-bad-guy type of night to the sneaky-bad-guy-busts-you-over-the-head-when-you're-busy-being-concerned-about-Lisbon's-shouts type of night." Featuring Jane, Lisbon, head wounds, and promises.

Set post 4x24. "He realized anew what his leaving had done to her. She was the same beautiful Lisbon, but different. She had a new fragility around her, like she was nearly ready to shatter. Her cheekbones were hollowed; her collarbone would cut glass. In a moment, he understood: he had broken her heart. He was still breaking her heart."

After a case involving obscure hobbies, Jane decides to bring back the long lost art of letter-writing. In spite of his best efforts, he only manages to secure a single correspondant.

Jane wakes up from a coma with vivid memories of events that never happened. For one thing, he believes he and Lisbon are married. Jisbon. Rated T for language/adult situations/violence. NOW COMPLETE.

When he caught sight of the blood smear, a small handprint that swept toward the door and still seemed to desperately cling to the frame in one last attempt to resist being taken, he inhaled a sudden, frenzied breath and called Cho.

The new CBI shrink tells Jane and Lisbon that instead of therapy sessions, they can keep daily journals of their emotions. Since this is the lesser of the two evils, they both comply. And maybe they even enjoy it a little... *Complete*
