![]() Author has written 1 story for Harry Potter. I'm a 18 year old law graduate from São Paulo, Brazil. I've never written much but I sure as hell read enough fanfiction to be able to partake my opinion without trolling. English is not my first language and I still know the difference between "you're", "your", "they're" and "their". I know, kudos for me right? I have no problems with cliches, in fact, I love them. They exist for a reason: because people actually like that spin in the story! Only one catch: if your going to do something overdone do it rationally, paced and originally. For example: Harry has a twin who is the BWL. Why in the seven blazes of hell would that make James and Lily forget the non-BWL existence? For once make a normal family. Yeah there will be problems with one kid being worshipped as a hero but I don't see how the James and Lily of JK would be swept under this wave. Honestly, in canon the died for their son, does anyone really think that it would matter to them if they had twins and one was more powerful than the other. ONE cliche per story is enough thank you very much. I've read slash, non-slash, mentoring, assassins, soul-bonds, cracks... Really, give me something well written that follows the rules proposed by the author and I will give it a try. But there actually have to BE rules, no "Harry becomes god so he can do anything", that totally kills the plot. I usually like happy endings but if someone can write angst without the characters being beaten by every imaginable force of the universe I will like it too. Really, only permanent rule for me: well written! As in semi-original idea, sound grammar and well developed, consistent plot. No repeating the same word 10 times per paragraph. Really, there is so many times that I can read "Harry did, Harry told, Harry thought" before I have this urge to hunt down the author and take away their computer privileges. I kwon probably nobody will read about my tirade but if you do send me a PM, OK? Tell me what you think... Here are some quotes that I find inspiring and/or amusing. Please feel free to search my favorite stories and recommend me any. "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong" Murphy's Law A drowning man is not troubled by rain. "A ship is safe in harbor, but that's not what ships are for." - William Shedd Love is much like a wild rose, beautiful and calm, but willing to draw blood in its defense. Mark Overby "Every goodbye calls for preparation, but most times, life takes us by surprise." "Nobody realizes that some people expend tremendous energy merely to be normal." - Camus "There'll never be another Camelot" Jacqueline Kennedy "I love you, not only for what you are, But for what I am when I am with you." - Roy Croft. "It is one thing to be in the proximity of death, to know more or less what she is, and it is quite another thing to seek her." - Ernest Hemingway. "If I tell you I love you, can I keep you forever?" - Casper, Casper the friendly ghost. "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking. It is not easily angered; it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails." - Corinthians 13:4-8, A book known as the Bible. Friends are Gods way of apologizing for our families. "The difference between school and life? In school, you're taught a lesson and then given a test. In life, you're given a test that teaches you a lesson." -Tom Bodett "I do, really. But most importantly, I want it all with you." Fan-fiction " And I think you need to stop following misery's lead. Shine away shine away shine away. Isn't it time you got over how fragile you are? We're all waiting, waiting on your supernova 'Cause that's who you are and youve only begun to shine." Anna Nalick "You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams"- Dr. Seuss "You can only be young once. But you can always be immature."-David Barry The pessimist complains about the wind. The optimist expects it to change. The realist adjusts the sails. One should rather die than be betrayed. There is no deceit in death. It delivers precisely what it has promised. Betrayal, though ... betrayal is the willful slaughter of hope. "Home is the place where, when you have to o there, they have to take you in" Robert Frost Death is hardest on those left behind 'Fall seven times, stand up eight.' - Japanese proverb 'He that is not jealous is not in love.' - St. Augustine "If I love you, what business is it of yours?" 'If I hadn't met you, I wouldn't like you. If I hadn't liked you, I wouldn't love you. If I didn't love you, I wouldn't miss you. But I did, I do and I will.' "That's the thing with magic. You've got to know it's still here, all around us, or it just stays invisible for you." - Charles de Lint "Now, this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning." - Winston Churchill If you don't understand how a woman could both love her sister dearly and want to wring her neck at the same time, then you were probably an only child. Linda Sunshine If there is no chocolate in heaven, than I'm not going. "The Constitution only gives people the right to pursue happiness. You have to catch it yourself." Benjamin Franklin 'Be cruel to me me cos i'm fool for you' I'm not all that bad at math. I am just one of those people who thinks numbers and letters don't mix. Love comes in a blue box 'When you are tired you take a napa, don't move to Napa' by Cari Bradshaw, sex and the city "Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away." It's Levi-O-sa. Not Levio-SA. That G in the Disney logo? ...not actually a G. Facebook asks me what I'm thinking. Twitter asks me what I'm doing. Foursquare asks me where I am. Conclusion, the Internet is my girlfriend. I never dreamed home would end up where I don't belong. 'Dear everyone, Just remember; if the world didn't suck, we'd all fall off. Sincerely, physics.' Cinderella is proof that a new pair of shoes can change your life. ' the bookstore is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking' by jerry seinfield "tive que te perder, tive que ficar só, para poder entender que sem você fica bem pior." "Denial is not only the name of a river in Egypt." " rosas são vermelhas, violetas são azuis, o amor produz centelhas e eu gosto de alcaçus" by juliana oliveira " that they can face each others faults, And though the waltz will have it's ending There is no harm in just pretending That they are special and apart" " it's fun to do the impossible" by walt disney "Rain (noun) - Nature's way of telling you that your hair doesn't look so good today, and you should start over." "fact: Waldo wears stripes, because he doesn't want to be spotted." "Insanity is just like poverty, if you're not paying attention to it, it's not happening." "Pode bem ser que o livro não abrisse/ que não votasse amor à sábia casta/ mas tinha o nome inscrito entre os alunos/ da Escola de São Paulo, e é quanto basta". Alvares de azevedo My imaginary friend thinks you have serious problems. You'll always be my friend. You know too much. The voices in my head are fighting again. I've gone to find myself. If I get back before I return, keep me here. The man who smiles when things go wrong, has thought of someone to blame it on. I’m not as random as you think I SALAD! Don't interrupt me when I'm talking to myself! It's rude! Don't look at me in that tone of voice! My voices tell me that your voices are dorks. Hold up! I can't hear you. Let me turn down my awesomeness... If explosives didn't solve your problems you obviously weren't using enough of them It's a control freak thing, I wouldn't let you understand. I’m not tense, I’m horribly, horribly aware. Knowledge is power- why are you defenseless? "You don't have a soul. You are a soul. You have a body." C. S. Lewis Remember, a good friend will always tell you the truth. A great friend will validate your decision when you decide to do something stupid anyway."Using the bible to prove that god exists is the same as using Harry Potter to prove that hogwarts exists" My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone. When it comes to thought, some people stop at nothing. To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first, and call whatever you hit the target. The optimist proclaims we live in the best of all possible worlds; the pessimist fears it is true. We live in an age where pizza gets to your house before the police. Eat right, exercise, die anyway. Why be difficult, when with just a little bit of effort, you can be impossible? Hard work pays off in the future. Laziness pays off now. When life gives you lemons, make grape juice, then sit back and let the world wonder how you did it. I'm not a complete idiot. Some parts are missing. The voices in my head tell me that you're all crazy to think that I need therapy. The newscaster is the person who says "Good evening" and then tells you why it's not. I want to die peacefully in my sleep like grandfather...not screaming like the passengers in his car. If you can keep your head while other people are losing theirs, you probably don't fully understand the situation. They say the truth will set you free. Then why is it everytime I tell the truth, I get sent to my room? Sarcasm is one more service we offer. I hear voices and they don't like you Smile -- it confuses the enemy I'm not bossy, I just have better ideas Insanity is a perfectly rational adjustment to an insane world. I used to have super powers, but then my therapist took them away. Logic is a systematic method of coming to the wrong conclusion with confidence. Stupidity killed the cat. Curiosity was framed. Who ever said anything was possible never tried nailing jello to a tree. "I understand that Scissors can beat Paper, and I get how Rock can beat Scissors, but there's no fucking way Paper can beat Rock. Paper is supposed to magically wrap around Rock leaving it immobile? Why the hell cant paper do this to scissors? Screw scissors, why can't paper do this to people? Why aren't sheets of college-ruled notebook paper constantly suffocating students as they attempt to take notes in class? I'll tell you why, because paper can't beat anybody, a rock would tear that paper up in 2 seconds. When I play rock/ paper/ scissors I always choose rock. Then when somebody claims to have beaten me with their paper I can punch them in the face with my already clenched fist and say "oh shit , I'm sorry, I thought paper would protect you, asshole." When you're right, no one remembers. When you're wrong, no one forgets. Cheer up, the worst is yet to come. Always remember that you are absolutely unique. Just like everyone else. Everyone makes mistakes. The trick is to make mistakes when nobody is looking. They say hard work never hurts anybody, but why take the chance. Always borrow money from a pessimist. He/she won't expect it back. There are 3 kinds of people: those who can count & those who can't. Proofread carefully to see if you any words out. Buy one for the price of two and get the second one free! It doesn't matter what temperature the room is. It's always room-temperature. Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the universe together The road to hell is ordered by the righteous, planned by the well-meaning, and paved with their good intentions. Always be who you are. Those who matter don't care and those who care don't matter. If I could get a firm grip on reality, I'd choke it. Good judgment comes from experience, and experience comes from bad judgment. Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. Knowledge is realizing that the street is one-way, wisdom is looking both directions anyway. The problem with defending the purity of the English language is that English is about as pure as a cribhouse whore. We don't just borrow words; on occasion English has pursued other languages down alleyways to beat them unconscious and rifle their pockets for new vocabulary. You cry, I cry. You laugh, I laugh. You jump off a cliff...I laugh again. Never be afraid to try something new. Remember, amateurs built the ark. Professionals built the Titanic. The word 'politics' is derived from the word 'poly', meaning 'many', and the word 'ticks', meaning 'blood sucking parasites'. That which doesn't kill you...will probably try again. Old aunts used to come up to me at weddings, poke me in the ribs and cackle, telling me, "You're next." They stopped after I started doing the same thing to them at funerals. The electric chair was invented by a dentist. If you are scared now more than ever of dentists by learning this fact, put this on your profile. "The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers". Shaekespere "Men are like atom bombs- everything at the drop site gets flatenned. Women are more like hydrogen bombs- you leave more buildings standing, but nobody is alive to apreciate your finesse." By fanfic author "I'm not mean you're just a sissy" "I know, I know I'm adorable now but my dad says I have to give you a warning of what will happen if you make me mad so…" "One day aliens are going to read this, and because of what you just wrote, they're going to destroy this planet." "I think I like the one that did as he was told." "Only because I looked up to you." "And you don't look up to me now?" "Only because I'm short." |
