I'm Birdie!

I've been an avid browser of this site & reader & writer of fanfiction for almost a decade so it felt about time I made an account.

JK Rowling has corrupted my imagination & I spend way more of my free time writing about her worlds & the beautiful, flawed people who inhabit it than on my own bloody novel but she owns my adolescence & my heart strings & my tear ducts.

Wolfstar own my soul. It actually hurts to think about them. JK denied their existence via Pottermore. I deny my own existence. The Wolfstar subtext in Potter seems too obvious not to be canon.

Snily is a rather dull ache but the idea of Huna makes me happy as does the fact that Jily eventually became a thing & made my whole obsession with JK's 7 book and 8 movie series possible.

Ships which make me sick in my mouth: Remus/Tonks (grief makes people do terrible things); Snape/Harry (stop); Sirius/James (what have you been smoking?); Hagrid's parents (*shudders*); Hagrid/Dobby (...); any incest at all (Were you abused as a child? DO NOT WANT). Taboo for taboo's sake does not account for entertainment.

I listen to a lot of music whilst I write so it only seems right that you listen to music whilst reading my work.

Here are my suggestions;

Resignation- Great Wolfstar fanmix. Peter Gabriel's cover of Arcade Fire's 'My Body Is A Cage' in particular gives me uncontrollable feelings.

Harry Potter & The Vellum Animus- This is a random youtube playlist I listen to which also makes up the contents of my other tumblr.

Invincible- Mumford & Sons play my heart strings on a banjo.

Potential- Conor Oberst was a driving force behind the angst which fueled this one. 'Breezy' in particular.

Chasm- More Mumford & Sons and a little Billie Holliday never hurt anybody.

This Is Why We Fight- A lot of 70's tracks inspired this as I scoured the internet for music the Marauders would have danced to.

Phantom- Inspired by this late night conversation, The Road, The Butterfly Effect and powered by a beautiful mix of soaring piano.

Shrapnel- Sam Cooke is always a catalyst for writing, as is this song by Pearl Jam.

*For those of you that liked my Marauders multi This Is Why We Fight, my apologies for not updating in 6 months (I broke both my computer and laptop). I have also decided to take the story down until I have edited the earlier chapters and completed it in it's entirety. I shall upload it here and at ao3 once it is done.
