![]() Author has written 37 stories for Rizzoli & Isles, Crossing Jordan, Xena: Warrior Princess, and Hollows, Kim Harrison. I was a Xena Fanfic writer. When that show ended, I thought I was done. But then along came Rizzoli and Isles. You know the rest. I like to mix things up. You will find Rizzles, not Rizzles, Isles family sagas, stuff about Frankie, and crossovers, mostly Crossing Jordan, or some UberXena official characters. I do funny, and super serious. Some are in between. I occasionally try out new characters I intend for other uses later. If you wonder why so many mentions of Native American Culture. Write what you know--right? I try to avoid really unfamiliar cultures, so the Plains Indians are out completely. I leave them to real experts. I do politics and activism IRL--you will discover some of that in my stories. I also write about US regions I have lived in. The Canadian border, the South, and Northwest for example. I'm afraid I have to research Boston like mad. I have never been there in my life. Some of my early stuff is pretty roughly written, as it took some time to knock the rust off my writing. I wanted to add that I experiment a lot in my writing. I love Magical Realism, but I fear I'll need to label it. It can confuse those not used to reading it. I try out all sorts of things. Changes of time period, place, ages, and writing in some time that exists between the episodes. I mingle the books and show. I have just added a category of fanfiction. I think it is new. I call it Genfic. It is stories about the ancestors of our favorite characters. This first Genfic is Halstead Street, the story of Jane and Maura's great-grandmothers. Or great-great, my mother was the genealogist. It is long, and covers their lives in the Chicago of 1889-1906 or so. The characters are all mine, except the real historical characters, and the modern descendents in the last chapter. So meet the family way back, and get a peek at Jane Addams, and Mother Jones, among others. At any rate, have fun with my stories--I hope you enjoy them. I wanted to ask something extra, if anyone is willing. If you review my stories, you can do a writer's review. This covers things like, Is the plot working? Do you believe the characters?, It know the typos are a pain, but just let me know if there is an unusual amount." You have no idea how useful these are. My sense of humor is not mainstream. I also very much like Constance Isles. I also like Angela, but I just can't seem to capture her in stories. If any writers need help withsome of the areas I know about, please feel free to write and ask. I have several stories featuring Constance--I really like her. Look for her in: Meeting Maura, What is Love Anyway?, Motherhood Isn't For Sissies, and Idle No More. Daddy Isles is featured in Oh Canada, Hell, and Dinner with Dad. Frankie has two of his own, and his name is in the title. Angela is a major player in Competition. I have been asked which are Rizzles. So, Peachy, Motherhood isn't for Sissies, Dead to Dead, Kiss Me, I'm Italian?. What is Love Anyway? Conscience. I finally realized I am not a reader of romances--any romances in the greater bookland, so reading any romances here is a major compliment to your writing. That is why I don't write that many romances of any pairing I just don't care for the genre. Simahoyo |
