I'm an English teacher living in Tulsa, OK. I'm married and will soon be a parent to my first child. I've already been a parent to my dog, Tobey, for several years, but somehow, I think an actual child might make for an exciting turning point in my life.

I write about Booth and Brennan because I admire them as characters and see tremendous potential within them, potential to be both romantic and humorous. I've always had a penchant for writing through the perspective of a man, because who better knows how to make a man seem perfect and perfectly flawed than a woman? I think humor is one of the most important qualities in any piece of fiction, and that's not to say I only want to read or write about giggle fits and knee-slappers. But I love to explore characters with the capacity to take themselves lightly and watch them develop slowly as a reflection of those around them, and that is yet another reason I enjoy Booth and the good doctor so much.

Ultimately, I hope my stories stay absolutely true to the characters of Booth and Brennan and I don't manage to turn such wonderful creations of fiction into boring androgynous pieces of crap. My biggest pet peeve is when writers transform Brennan into a simpering romantic moron and Booth becomes a Hugh Grant-like sheepish puppy dog. It is a slight to the characters that have inspired so many writers, readers, and viewers.
