How I, a fujoshi, find my ships:

#1) The rule that I engraved to myself "Main Characters are and always be uke' and a fave character of mine is the seme (occasionally). -If you looked at my ships, you will see that all of the main male characters that I pair with are uke. [ie. Drarry, SasuNaru, 1827, AkaKuro, and so on...]
#2) Opposite attracts. -Most of my ships are having this opposite personalities that makes them attracted to the other [ie. Drarry, SasuNaru, Shizaya, 1827, and practically most of my pairs.]
#3) Love-hate relationship or what I call "Unresolved Sexual Tensions" -Ohohohoho, who doesn't like the abnormality of two characters who 'hate' each other suddenly secretly like them? As the phrase says "there is a thin line between love and hate"; This saying is what made pairings of such came to be. [ie. Drarry, Shizaya, UsUk, and maybe Drarry, also 8059?]
#4) The closeness of the two like as best friends/a special relationship/former family/or simply just close enemies.-This here doesn't need an explanation. It's the typical best friend turned crush or something. [ie. I have to say: SasuNaru (They are best friends), 1827 (Despite the lack of interactions, Tsuna trusts his cloud much to tell the 'plan' to him and not any other guardian), UsUk (They were formally brothers until America wanted to be an equal in England's eyes, also they have a "Special Relationship"), As for the close enemies-it can also pertain to SasuNaru or what else ships that couldn't come to my mind for this, Drarry (Enemies but obviously desire each other, Merthur (do I need to explain this? they're practically married.)
#5) Unrequited Love. -the unfair of their situation is just so osfjovjsaovjo-BEAUTIFUL. The reason why they didn't just go on and confess their feelings is because of their pride or reputation. They just couldn't risk it. And when the longer they ignore their desire the worse the situation becomes. [ie. Drarry (both), 1827 (pride or both), UsUk (Ignoring the desires), and so on...]

I have yet more conditions to be placed here, but I can't seem to recall most, so for now just this five. :3
