"Keeping something simple helps it keep," and doesn't it? Of course, there are always those who continually add in destructive details. The only way that those descriptive adjectives and nouns hold any weight is if the way they are presented melds with the story. Using slang and abbreviations to establish an accent or a characters personality is all fine and dandy, but seeing sentence fragment after sentence fragment, or paragraphs that even a thesaurus couldn't make enjoyable... Grammar and flow are huge factors to my perceptions of a story. Onto what makes me... well hopefully you know how that ends. Accomplishments: A dozen trips to swap out books at used book stores, with three bookshelves of my favorites currently presiding over my room. Don't you love it when you can mix irony, sarcasm, symbollism, and hierachies together within a simple List? Drink to the intimacies and intricacies of Language my friends, for while most read to enjoy a story, I will read to enjoy the authors mind. |
