Hello, world!

I'm a software engineer/writer/web developer/security analyst, not necessarily in that order. I enjoy writing fantasy and science fiction and I'm just getting started with fanfiction. "Why?" some people ask. Because so many games have such incredible stories and characters! I love exploring the ways that storytelling differs between different media (like games and novels), and fanfiction is a great way to do that.

I have several projects underway right now. Here on FanFiction.net I have my main story, "Blood of Dragons", a novelization of Skyrim centred around Issana Hastratus, an orphan girl in Riften, as she slowly learns of her true destiny as Dragonborn. I'm doing my best to stick to Elder Scrolls lore and the established canon, but there will definitely be lots of dialogue changes and expanded character roles. Like I said, storytelling in games is very different from a novel, and I want to use this project to explore that.

I also have my own fantasy novel in the works, currently in its second revision. I will likely be alternating between working on it and "Blood of Dragons", so if a lot of time passes between chapters in "Blood of Dragons" it's just because I've switched over to my other novel.

When I'm not working on either of these projects, I write a lot of short stories. You can find them over on Writing.Com if you're interested. I have some fantasy, some sci-fi and some horror.
