Lily clutched her sleeping daughter in her arms, too frightened to ever let go of the tiny bundle of perfection. Hopes green eyes did not open, as she slept so soundly in Lily. her mother's arms. James came in from the kitchen, and he looked away from his wife with an expectaition of hiding his tears. Lily saw. "James." James whiped a tear away and sat next to his wife. He wrapped his arm around his wife and placed a hand on his daughter's fire head. She slept so soundly. Lily and James sat like that for a while, each savouring every minute and second. for there would soom come a time when they would look back on those moments and wonder where the time went. and wish that they could just see Hope once more. The clock struck twelve, and there was a soft POP, from outside. Then a knock. James stood and drew his wand. Lily wrapped her hands around Hope. James opened the door, so that only a sliver of light entered the cottage. "Who's there?" A silence followed his words, a dreadful silence that sucked the air out of the house. "It is I, Albus Dumbledore, and I must inform you that I take a great liking to lemon drops." Lily and James sighed a breath of relief. And then the relief disappeared as though it had never been there at all. Albus came into the cottage, and bowed. Lily did not smile, and neither did James. Lily looked from her husband to the Professor, tears shimmerimg in her emerald eyes. "Professor, isn't there any other way?" Albus bowed his head. Lily stood up, her arms around Hope. Then she whispered. "Hope, you will face hardships, and you will see hate. But you must always know, that your mum, Lily Potter, will always be right there with you." Lily planted a soft kiss on Hope's fore head, and then moved her hands ehind her head. Lily unlatched her necklace and placed it around her own daughter's neck. The flower made Hope look even more beautiful then she already was, and the inscription next to it was the very thing the girl would base her life upon. Wherever you go, may you always find Hope. Albus spoke softly. "Lily, it is time." Lily squeezed her daughter, and reluctantly handed her to Albus. Albus took the child with soft hands, and wrapped her blanket around her more snuggly. After all, it was October. James kissed Hopes forehead, and help Lily in his arms. Lily broke into soft sobs. "Thank you." She managed to say. "You must not fret, Lily. You have no idea the amount of love and care Molly and Arthur will bestow upon her." Albus nodded to both of the parents, taking into consideration that he may never see the Potters again, though he wished the world against it. And with that, Albus turned on the spot, and disapparated. Molly Weasley sat at her kitchen table, a mug of fire whiskey in her hands. Her head drooped in sleep, as it was past midnight. Arthur sat in the sitting room chair, he too fast asleep. A soft pop echoed from the grounds outside the house. Molly awoke with a start, and her hands escaped to her fly away red hair, trying desperetly to flatten it before Albus arrived. Arthur was awake as well, and he fumbled for his wand. Arthur crept over to the door, careful not to make a creak in the wood so his children above would not wake. He cracked the door open silently in the same manner that James had a mete hour ago in his own home. "Who is it?" There was no silence this time. The emptyness was filled by Hope's cry, as she did not understand why she was away from her mother. "It is I, Albus, and I should like to inform you that my favorite candy is in fact lemon drops." Arthur and Molly exchanged significent glances, and Arthur opened the door. Albus cradled Hope in his arms, and in a second Molly was there in the door way. She looked at Albus, and then down to Hope. She looked up at Molly and smiled, her tears quieting immediately. Albus came in thw door and handed Hope to Molly. Molly took the bundle carefully, not wishing to upset her new daughter and not wishing to wake up the newborn one upstairs. Molly's jaw dropped, astounded at the one year old infant before her. She was so perfect. They way her green eyes sparkled and her red hair fell in small curls at the base of her neck. How her cheeks were chubby and her hands curled around Molly's fingers. Molly looked at Albus. "Thank you." Albus smiled. "I trust you'll take good care of her?" Molly and Arthur nodded. "Oh course." "Like she was our own." Albus looked at Hope. "And you must not reveal to her her true lineage until she turns eleven, correct?" The parents nodded. Albus pulled his wand from his waist band and waved it. Instantly, the children upstairs had new memories. Ones of their brother Ron and thier sister Hope being born, and ones of holding the twins when they were born, and of playing with their sibling on the rug. But these memories were not so, and the children would never know until one day in ten years that they all only had six other siblings, not eight, and that Hope was not Hope Genevive Weasley, but Hope Genevieve Potter.
