I am a first Cousin, as we first generation fans of MFU are called. Prior to October 2010, I had no idea that such a thing as fan fiction even existed, much less that anyone still cared about my favorite TV shows from the ancient past!

I grew up watching "The Man From Uncle" and "Star Trek" on our tiny black-and-white television with the rabbit ears and tin foil on top. The shows were terrific fun, and they were a profound gift. Beneath the adventure and excitement, the glam cars and the exotic locales, was the eye-opening concept of a group of people dedicated to peace, mutual respect and trust among all nations--a view very different from the vews espoused in my childhood home. Watching the deep friendship evolve between unabashed capitalist Napoleon Solo and his austere Soviet partner Illya Kuryakin, I saw for the first time what a real, deep friendship looks like--the knowledge has made me a better friend. And it certainly didn't hurt that David McCallum's "Illya" was the sexiest, most adorably intriguing guy on television (sigh)! "The Man From Uncle" entertained me, fed my imagination, sparked my budding prepubescent libido, touched my soul, and made me strong in my belief that there is indeed hope for our dysfunctional world, if only we remain committed to the dream of peace. For that, I am profoundly grateful.

It feels great to have found such a unique community of writers, each with their own beautiful and distinct point of view. We are truly a United Network. I write both Gen and Slash stories, and they are clearly marked for the convenience of the reader.
