Author has written 17 stories for Law and Order: SVU, Harry Potter, Devil Wears Prada, Burlesque, and Misc. Movies. As any writer or student past the age of 6 knows, there are 5 W's of Writing. So I thought my profile might follow the same format so as to interest and inform those altogether superior, fabulous, above-average-intelligence individuals who care to know a little bit more about the Femme Fatale of Fanfiction I fancy myself to be (can you tell yet that I'm apt to alliterate altogether too often?) About the Author Who? I write and/or have written for the following: The Devil Wears Prada: Mirandy Priestly & Andrea Sachs (Mirandy) Law & Order SVU: Olivia Benson & Elliot Stabler (EO) Harry Potter: Minerva McGonagall & Albus Dumbledore (MMAD) Once Upon a Time: Regina Mills & Emma Swan (SwanQueen) *First fic in progress*You may notice my fandoms range between straight & same-sex pairings, which is apparently slightly odd in the world of ships. So here it is: I am straight. I am Christian. Most Sundays you will find me in church (Anglican/Lutheran background). I also believe wholeheartedly that I do not know everything God thinks. I probably have a whole lot of things wrong despite my best efforts and attempts at understanding. But for myself I believe that God cares more about the kind of love than the logistics of it. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm right. I do think the institution of religion as a whole has been bastardized into something unrecognizable from its original purpose so I believe it's vitally important not to confuse faith with religion. Not all Christian are bible-bashing-bigots (see? alliteration for the win), and those who are, are doing more against God than for him and certainly more than some of the people they are too busy damning to get to know. It's that love that God is about that I see in the pairings I ship. Real, true, purposeful love or the glaring, overwhelming potential for it. So yes... Straight. Christian. Liberal-Conservative. Literature Major. Pink Wearing. Fiercely Loyal. Loudmouth. That about covers it. What? Romance, Hurt/Comfort, Family, Drama. For me personally, 'Fan Fiction' is an escape from the horrible and the mundane and so my stories will never include premature character death or end on an unresolved note of angst. There is far, far too much of that in real life and I can't abide the idea of putting more unnecessary heartbreak out into the world. To each their own, but that is my take. To be sure, not all my stories are 'happy' persay, but all find resolution and end up with who they are supposed to. I do have an admitted weakness for hurt/comfort & family fics if you hadn't noticed already from my writings below. I tend towards writing about very willful, strong-minded women and I think that conversely to the image they project, it is the strongest ones who often possess both the greatest capacity to be loved but also to be hurt and made vulnerable. Where? Everywhere; and truly I mean everywhere. I go nowhere without a slew of pens & a Kate Spade hardbound notebook somewhere on my person. When? Whenever boredom or inspiration strike which is often...however often at the most inconvenient & inopportune times. Generally during university lectures I find. Why? There is nothing so powerful as language in its every form, and to wield language with a skillful hand is to possess power that even the most accurate gun or sharpest sword cannot overcome. I used to read the thesaurus...for fun. My grandparents, the altogether fabulous human beings that they are, used to take me to the bookstore every couple of months and let me pick out as many books as I wanted which would then be doled out every time I saw them (I had to find them first however as they would hide them) - hence the existence of several floor-to-ceiling bookshelves lining my bedroom and the trials of having to clear out books in order to fit new ones. Yes, I was the luckiest, little literati in the world. Miscellaneous Nonsense The Grammar Police? You are looking at the Chief. |
