About me: I'm a married 20 something from the Northeastern U.S. with two cats and no kids. I'm a long-time fan of the Final Fantasy series.

When I was a senior in high school, I fell head over heels in love with Final Fantasy VIII, its characters and their world. I was 17, the same age as the characters in the game and about to embark on scary life-changing adventures (though I will readily concede that going to college is not as scary as fighting an evil time-travelling, friend-posessing sorceress). Rinoa was the first video game character (and perhaps the first fictional character, period) who I considered a role model. She was outspoken, passionate, and confident - all things that I wished I could be at the time.

Squall and Rinoa were my "OTP" for a long, long time before I even knew there was a term for it. I think they bring out the best in each other. As the cool kids say, they give me many feels.

Thankfully, the timing of my finishing FFVIII roughly conincided with obtaining a broadband internet connection and I fell into the fandom headlong. I've been reading FFVIII fanfic off and on since 2000 and am absolutely in awe of the talent and dedication displayed by so many of the fandom's authors.

As for my own writing... I don't write much. I'm a scientist by training and trade, so creativity and prose aren't exactly my strong suits. Of the stories on my favorites list, the multi-chaptered epics are the ones I'm most blown away by because I think developing a complex and intriguing plot is beyond me. I have written some in-game and post-game one shots. I am posting one today in honor of the Where I Belong challenge (and Squall's birthday- god I'm such a nerd).

Other random likes: cooking, politics (raging liberal), fashion and make up, nature, animals great and small, music, singing and dancing badly, select adult beverages, and, of course, gaming.
