About the Cult of Mark

We are a group of four authors who like to write fic based off of what amuses us, or what we feel like writing at the time. We'd prefer you didn't know our names individually, so we will use our 'cult names'.

Papillion is the founder of "The Cult of Mark" and the one who named it such. He likes a wide variety of fandoms and likes to multi-task (though he often fails at it). Likes cloaks, being mysterious, and being indecisive as well as the obvious things like reading and writing fanfiction, books, and originals. His name comes from the French word for "butterfly" and it's also a dog breed. If it wasn't completely obvious, his real name is Marcello. Call him Mark. He, like his co-conspirator Tertre, likes languages (though not necessarily dead ones) and knows German and English. He wishes he could speak Japanese and envies people who can.

Tertre is the eldest of the Cult, but is mainly relegated to awkward sidekick status. However, when she does contribute, it is largely in the form of bad puns, non-sequiturs, or sudden, unexpected angst, the likes of which no man has ever seen. She enjoys dead languages, copious amounts of tea, and peppy Korean pop music. Her pen name is French, even though that isn't a dead language. Her real name is Mina.

The third member of the Cult is a shadowy and mysterious individual known only as "Soleil". To be honest, this isn't completely true--Soleil is actually not cloaked in shadow like he'd like you to think. Clearly, he enjoys writing and reading fanfiction, but also has a fondness for classic literature and neoclassical and metal music (especially cellos). Languages are also a point of interest for Soleil--he knows English and French, as is evidenced by his penname, and is passable in Italian and Spanish. You can call him Miles.

Shura broke the trend of French names because he couldn’t find a good French name or word. Shura spends most days writing some variety of slash. It usually involves smut. Shura sometimes writes original stuff, and delights in twisting mythology for his own nefarious means. Shura lives off of tea, crumpets and chocolate. He reads copious amounts of manga and watches anime in his spare time. When writing, Shura prefers to listen to an eclectic soundtrack, which includes j-pop and j-rock, as well as video game OSTs and Queen. Shura’s real name is Micky.

As for what the Cult of Mark is? Well, in the words of Xellos from Slayers, "It's a secret!" Just know that it's not an actual religion or anything like that, it's just something Papillion decided to call his little group and it stuck.

We beta each other's work, add things, rewrite things, to the point where we can't quite tell you who wrote what. So it's a collaboration between three minds. So, in case you didn't notice, this is a collaboration account, though we will state who wrote which fics or chapters so you're not confused. Also, not all three of us work on the same fics all the time, so keep that in mind.

If you want to make a podfic, translation, remix, secondary fanwork (a fic based off of our fic), add it to a collection, draw fanart, or do anything with our fics, let us know and we'll work something out!
