Instead of an embittered Evil Queen with a fixation on revenge, Regina is a tattered rocker with a sketchbook past. Her heart has been broken and her life is falling apart; tumbling down the neck of a bottle and clinging to a ghost.

Regina lets the wounds on her arm fester. She leaves them be, night after night, staring at them, dark eyes empty, breath easy, and she could be sleeping, if she weren't in so much pain. But henry is gone, her baby, and the pain will never go away. Infection is no laughing matter, and when Roland witnesses her fall to her fever, it's his father he runs too.

David's dreamshade infection isn't caught in time in Neverland and with a little push from Regina's magic he unintentionally finds himself in a world tainted with Regina's memories and dreams.
