Hello everyone! I am darksideboy1253 (lame name I know, couldn't come up with anything else). I'm basically everyone's typical fifteen year old boy going to High School. I like to write, but most of the ideas I have don't go past the first page and/or chapter, because of self esteem issues. I figured I'd make an account and post a chapter of one of my works here on the site to see if people like it and if I should continue.

ARMOR ABILITY: "Rage". A Unique form of superhuman strength with the added affect of invulnerability, it was given to Agent California as a part of an experiment. A side effect is, prominently with Agent California himself, it decreases the amount of intelligence in the user.

RANK: Former Sergeant Grade 2

AFFILIATION: Freelancer Program; Honorably Discharged

ARMOR COLOR, TYPE, and EMBLEM: Joshua Griffin was issued the Standard Issue Explosive Ordinance Disposal Armor with a sage green color and green trim. He has two emblems, one on his right shoulder, and on the right side of his chest piece. The Emblem is shaped like the Chaos symbol, primary part being colored brown and the second being colored steel, with a Sprocket background colored sage.

APPEARANCE: Joshua Griffin is a rather handsome, yet rugged, looking man in his late twenties. Light brown hair goes down to right above his eyebrows, always parted across his forehead. However, as a result of his short hair, it leaves many scars visible, the most prominent extending from his right ear down his right cheek and ends at his chin. In the form of build, Joshua is as muscular as most of the other men in the Freelancer Program, and has kept himself in the best physical shape possible. His face is the only tan part of his body, do to his staying in his armor for more than half his life. He weighs a mere 190 lbs and is 5'9" tall.

PERSONALITY (Due for concern) and BACKGROUND: Agent California has exhibited a rather demented and mentally broken personality over the years, and has become more prominent during his later years of servitude to the Freelancer Program. This personality has lead to observation even after he was honorably discharged. When this personality first showed itself was when California was ordered to assassinate the Programs Directorate Supervisor. California broke into the Supervisor's Penthouse, killed anyone who was there, and tortured the Supervisor into madness before putting a single bullet into the mans head. The Director has pulled up on California's police and orphan records, revealing he once had a little sister who was kidnapped, raped, and murdered. The killer left the body in a ditch. When California found out, it apparently made him mad with rage. Somehow, he tracked down the murderer, and killed him in the exact same way. Police found Josh playing with his victims organs, apparently having undergone a complete mental breakdown. He was admitted into a Mental Hospital at the age of fourteen and released three years later into the Directors care. The Director has informed us that California was the first Freelancer and was named after his home state, and was once considered to be the carrier of the Alpha.

AI PERSONALITY: Omicron has a rather sarcastic and rude personality, known to talk down to practically everyone except her human companion and the Director himself. When Omicron and California speak to each other, they speak with great care for one another. Omicron is rumored to be the only thing to keep California from breaking down mentally a second time. California and Omicron, to be put bluntly, would kill anyone in their path if they were separated.

AI Unit: Upsilon (Silly or Sil)

Appearance: Lizzy Sky is a fairly cute young woman with bright blue eyes framed by light lashes and set beneath well-kept eyebrows. Barely ever finding time to trim her hair, Lizzy's blonde bangs are almost always in her eyes, though she does try to keep them short enough that they don't block her vision, or long enough to pull behind her ear. Unfortunately, this tends to result in the "always in her eyes" issue, as when she's growing them out they have a few inches to go before she can pull them back. The rest of her hair is currently over two feet in length, reaching just beyond the middle of her back. She tends to wear it in a braid coiled under her helmet so that it doesn't get in the way, though back when the 49 knew her she kept her hair about shoulder length with an angle on the front and had no bangs. She has tanned skin with a small mole on the edge of her upper right lip, and stands barefoot at a height of 5' 4". Build-wise she's thin and slightly pear-shaped due to the flare of her wide hips, but that's perfect for her, as she appears to be only in her early-hundreds weight-wise.

Any canon source/connection: Lizzy bunked with Tex back during special forces training, although they weren't normally in training sessions together and weren't really close. Besides that her only connection would be with the other 49.

Character background: Lizzy Sky-- or Massachusetts, by codename-- was one of the few females accepted to the Special Forces program. She and Tex were roommates and spent some time together, but because of conflicting training schedules they rarely had enough free time to actually build up a friendship. Some nights, however-- when the training for the day hadn't left them exhausted-- they would stay up after curfew and commiserate about their fellow 49, or tell each other stories about their lives before training. Despite these instances, MA spent more time with other members in her own particular segment of the 49 than she did with Tex. Of those in her segment, Lizzy had a particular fondness for, one could say a romantic interest in, York. The affection she held for him seemed to be at least somewhat mutual, although neither of them had the chance to do anything about it while they were in the program. Lizzy was one of the first to vanish and avoid AI removal, leaving without so much as a good-bye to anyone and sneaking out under the cover of night. Her few close "friends" in her training segment knew why-- knowing just how close Upsilon and Lizzy were-- although those with more violent AIs were less understanding. No one from the program has seen her since, although it's likely that the freelancer program has been attempting to keep tabs on her movements, as they do with all of their former and current freelancers.

Lizzy was trained in computer hacking and programming, but her fighting specialties lay in CQC and long-distance (i.e. sniping) combat. In hand-to-hand she is almost unbeatable by most of the 49. She's always been a fair shot with a sniper, though, and has honed those skills further since leaving in order to eke a living out of mercenary contracts. Nothing pays like murder.

Personality: MA is a pleasant woman with good manners and a seemingly cheerful outlook on life. However, she IS a freelancer and she knows her way around a weapon well enough that those who try to mess with her thinking she'll be an easy target get more than they bargained for. She prefers hand-to-hand combat over guns, and even in full armor she could easily take out an attacker or three. Stubborn and somewhat commanding, if Lizzy feels something is a bad idea, she'll put her foot down and refuse to let anyone go through with it. She's sweet, if a little unpredictable, and has a closet love of theater and music. Her experiences with the special forces AI program left her a tad more cynical than she was going in, and these days she'd be the first to point out the flaws in a plan before going through with it anyway. When Upsilon chooses to take control of Lizzy-- although those times are few and far between-- she becomes an almost uncontrollable machine of destruction for however long Upsilon's rage lasts, or however long it takes someone to knock her unconscious. The only people who would be able to contain her during a rage would be one of the stronger, just-as-crazy freelancers from the program and that might not end well for either of them.

AI Personality: Upsilon normally poses no threat. She has a bubbly personality and is extremely spontaneous, but is exceptionally smart, like most AIs. However, her chipper attitude seems to offset that intelligence and makes her seem very nonthreatening. This is generally an accurate assumption, but if someone attempts to harm Massachusetts or does something Upsilon doesn't take kindly to, she'll kill him or her quickly and-- hopefully-- painlessly. Her temper is wicked, but it's also quick to cool, which means that if her victim can evade her or calm her down fast, he or she may just live. She and Lizzy get along well, so the woman whose body she inhabits has never even considered getting rid of her AI.
