A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. So is a lot. Joan has left her mark on Sherlock, and things will never be the same between them.

The last episode of the fourth season ended with plans for a group dinner, a blind date and Watson asking "What's the worst thing that could happen?". I took that as a challenge. I would like to give thanks to my beta wtchcool, the best and kindest.

Sherlock & Joan are arguing. The major issue being for Sherlock is that he's not exactly sure what they're arguing about. Captain Gregson attempts to help, but when that goes poorly, Sherlock is on his own with only his deep understanding of women to sooth troubled waters. So, basically he's screwed. Rating upped to account for the frequent use of the words 'turtle sphincter'.

How does a girl with a too high IQ become a criminal overlord?

Joanlock. Joan Watson is having a very bad day. She thinks she's the only one, but quickly discovers Sherlock is having a worse one, for reasons that catch her off guard. Lots of feels with hurt/comfort.

Observing is more than seeing...or so Sherlock claims. Yet the people in his life deserve more observation than he gives them. Each chapter is centered around one of the "regular irregulars" who inhabit the world of Joan and Sherlock. More character-driven than mystery, though there's some of that, too.

Whilst Kitty is reconnecting with old friends in England, Sherlock and Joan are sent undercover as a married couple to infiltrate a human trafficking ring. As the investigation continues, the duo must identify the sinister head of the organisation, who holds the secrets to the whereabouts of dozens of victims. As they do so, their fractured relationship is put to new tests.

After five years of separation, Sherlock and Joan run into each other by sheer chance. She's married, and he's on the verge of mental instability, but that doesn't stop them from rekindling their relationship. And this time, it's in an entirely new way. Joan/Sherlock

The pair struggle with the fact that Russell can barely remember her long partnership with the great detective, let alone that they are apparently man-and-wife. Just a little oneshot as I felt the chapter in the book incomplete for my fangirly wishes.

Joan never imagined that their partnership would be so easily broken.

When Scully goes to sleep in 2000 and wakes up in 1989, she goes to the only person who might be able to help. But 27-year-old Mulder has a new case and some problems of his own.

He thinks it's been this way all along.

"We need to be able to trust each other implicitly. We should do something to help bond us more cohesively as a single unit. It will make things go more smoothly in the future." Joan frowned as Sherlock spoke. It appeared as though her quiet rest was over already. "What did you have in mind?" She asked cautiously. "A trust exercise."

When a blackout impacts New York City, Sherlock and Joan take time to shed light on the situation and on their partnership. Also, Clyde.

Sherlock has been missing for six days. Naturally, Joan is the one who finds him. Takes place after the finale, can be Joanlock or just friendship, depending on how you look at it.

Sometimes, when it comes to Joan Watson, the deductions Holmes makes are utterly incorrect. Joan is somewhat vindictive at proving him wrong. She turns to Sherlock, watches him watching the hives within the barely there shades of twilight. The moon glow and industrial light set the evening air in hues of navy and lavender, everything set in a state of gloss and shimmer. She takes a moment to appreciate the way they play against his features, casting shadows and brightening all the angles of his face... Tag for 1x23&1x24

"He shrugs off his jacket and hooks it around back of her. It smells of boot polish and coffee and some spicy something that she can't identify."

A crime too close for comfort sends Holmes and Watson into the seamy underside of...American education.

His eyes, his movement, his speech, all of his gestures are always curt and precise. There's no finesse in his bones, no grace in his conscious. So she's startled to find his lips are gentle and his hands are hesitant. The novice hands of a seasoned veteran, the hands of a man who knows how to take what he wants and finally wants what he's taken...

Joan meets a strange and intense young man in an airport cafe and tries to work out why he's there. One shot, just for fun. This has generated quite a few questions, so I have added a couple more clues. Thanks for all your feedback!

Following Giant Gun Filled with Drugs. Messing with the Dominican cartel means someone has to pay but Sherlock doesn't know it's Joan. He waits for her to come home with dinner.
