Author has written 1 story for Twilight. Hello all. I signed up for this site a while ago, but I am now just getting around to posting a profile. I got linked to this site by another site that recommended a story by HM Grayson. I really enjoyed this author's work and have taken some time to look at some other stories as well. I think that there are some very talented people posting stories to this site and I very much enjoy my time reading these stories. So thank you to all the other authors that I didn't mention by name! I will try to keep this as brief as possible. I'm a male and I'm also a Gen X-er. I'm also a biochem graduate student (my second attempt at a career), which might make me a weird demographic for Twilight fandom. And while Meyer will never be mistaken for say Emerson, her little story of true love touched something in my jaded, scientific, Gen-X heart. Some might call me a sucker for schmaltz, but we all have our guilty pleasures. I need something in life to offset the endless piles of DNA sequences and such I deal with every day, and reading various kinds of novels helps fulfill that need. And now I'm going to try my hand at writing. I love Meyer's characters, but certain personality types were certainly underrepresented, and that is something I wish to explore. Furthermore, Breaking Dawn left so many things unanswered that I almost couldn't help chiming in in some manner. I just hope people don't run screaming. :) I currently have a couple of story ideas that I hope go over well. I prefer not to make the canonical characters NOT my main characters, but to insert new characters and have them surrounded by the canonical characters. I hope that not too many folks are put off by this, but this is just what I prefer to write, and where I think my strengths lie. From what I have read on this site, some of my ideas might be a bit dark, but I am trying very hard not to go overboard, but I am definitely trying to put more of an emphasis on "quasi-realistic consequences of actions" than many authors, and perhaps even Meyer herself. I'm sure I'll add more "stuff" to this section when I think of it. However, I am keeping this short, as I have not even posted a single chapter yet, but have many in mind. I thought that this would be a good place to start. And again, if you like Twilight, be sure to check out HM Grayson's work! It's amazing! PS I apologize for my incredibly slow posting rate, but I'm trying to finish a PhD in biochemistry this year. Just check back in from time to time when you are checking other stories. Cheers! |
